farewell, thanks Prince. I just want to say a farewell to my Photobucket pictures, I checked today and all my pictures are GONE!

I had 2 accounts and 1 of them had the same username and password as my hq account, I guess the web sheriff or somebody made Photobucket delete it, it's been happening lately to people that had Prince pictures in they're accounts. | |

You gotta make sure you don't give the images names that are recognizably Prince-ish. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |

My account was not set on "Private", but it seems like Photobucket can go into anybody's account they want to, I don't know. I don't think anythings private these days. | |

What I meant was that it might make sense to give photos totally generic names (for example, don't call anything UTCM1 or PR7), so that if they're using some kind of search function to find Prince-related images, they can't go straight for yours. At least he's being thorough and consistent. I'm sure he's got endless resources to devote to it too. Well, like it or hate it, he's making a change and a difference that people will eventually respect. I must admit, I'm not really against what he's doing. He's doing something about something he feels strongly about. | |

if it makes you feel better myspace deleted my profile because i had a few (okay okay ...about 112) photos of the man himself. but arent they supposed to give you a warning first?

I suppose not when THEY are the one's Prince is threatening to sue, and not you. as the hoster, if they remove the pics after being notified then they are not liable for any infringement. you can issue a counter notice if you believe you are within your right, especially on accounts that have been suspended that removed non-prince photos, i.e. your personal photos. I have seen this happen to a few people, they suspended the whole account, not just the prince pictures. they have no right to do that to your personal pics you own, but you have to issue the counter notice showing you have not violated copyright. | |

I don't understand why anyone would become so upset by any of this...A bunch of photo's are scattered throughout the cd's and the book from Hawaii...And the video's that have been purchased...

I just went to my account, and he took all but 18 pix! I had mine set in a private account. How can he get to a private account? But also my pix of my grandkids are missing. I know they are cute but Damn! He left just the generic pix of the 3121 logos, and superbowl pix of the stage. Is there no privacy act for the accounts, that we make private and not public? This is out of hand. I want my grandkids pix back, could it be that they deleted by mistake? and is there anything I can do about this? Peace & Love | |
