Hearing doves in One nite alone cd

It sounded like the doves were in the studio with Prince cause you could hear them cry during the first couple of seconds in Objects in the mirror, and the last couple of seconds in A case of you. It blended well with the song which I thought was pretty cool. What do ya'll think about it. Did you hear them as well.

Haven't heard it, but I think it would flow nicely. One Nite Alone is such a nice little album.

They were overdoved in post-production.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The doves get credit for backing vocals, I believe (don't have my disc with me and can't remember the names of Prince's two doves). Check the credits inside the CD sleeve.

Prince's doves - Majesty and Divinity - are indeed given credits in the album cover. Sweet!

Everytime I listen to this album I can't help but think of Femi Jiya's description of the recording process, at this year's Xenophobia. Apparently, it was mostly recorded in single takes, at the dead of night, in the Atrium of Paisley Park. Femi was hooked up in the studio, recording; Prince was in the Atrium singing his heart out in complete darkness, save a few candles and the moonlight streaming in. IMAGINE how beautiful that must've been!

Femi said there were mikes hooked up all over the Atrium but they eventually settked on using two or three. However, they were picking up unidentified noises, which they eventually realised were the two doves, sleeping in their cages. Femi offered to re-record the tracks, but Prince insisted they were left on. WHO else would think of doing that?? Wonderful.

Indeed it's thats exactly what it is. Some songs are a little underdeveloped but the album is really charming.

that is so beautiful, what i love a bout that is that that story totally captures the spirit and mood of Onight Alone. it's how you hoped the album was recorded. thanx for sharing that info, I will always listen to it differenly now.
