Respect and admiration from one music legend to another. I think Elton John's acknowledgement of Prince's mantra of "real music by real musicians" was cool and touching. I'm not an Elton John fan, but i respect anybody in music who's longvity in music is based on actual talent, showmanship and musicianship. What's ironic is that Prince has recently had Mya open for her, who is just as "pre-recorded" and pre-packaged as any other other acts Prince loathes.

this is the same elton john that said "all religion should be outlawed" ...going on saying how all the worlds problems are because of religion. Wonder how that holds up in Prince's JW cult. EJ had some great songs in the past, but thats it. He is by far NOT a great person.

I wasn't too keen on Elton until I saw on a tv doc here in the UK how he helped a young America lad who had aids move house(as local kids were spraying anti-gay stuff on his wall and chucking stones through windows, he got it I think through a blood transfusion at hosp not being gay he was quite young kid) and pay his med bills and all then seeing all the work hes done for AIDs. He puts on an act of being OTT but when you see some of the stuff hes done and kept quiet you can see hes actually got a big heart.

^ Fair points. He's obviously isolating one section of the music community (hip-hop, mainstream r&b etc). What about the countless amazing rock bands out there right now? You have Radiohead who just delivered their 6th straight masterpiece album. I just don't like how he patronises his crowds sometimes - 'yes, this is a real trumpet!' O RLY???? NO WAI!!!
