Does prince Have a Company Called Powdered Sugar Productions

Does anyone know anything about a company by this name? Any comments would be helpful.

Imelda

Powdered Sugar is Darren Hayes' own record label.

(Unless Powdered Sugar Productions is something different)

I put a pair of Prince symbol earrings up for sale on ebay and they pulled the auction claiming it violated intellectual property and that I should contact Powdered Sugar Productions, who I supposedly violated. The web address of pseudo email address does not work or exist in order for me to make any kind of contact.

I did several internet searches and the only thing that came up was Darren Hayes' record label. WTF? who the hell is he and what does he have to do with Prince symbol earrings or Prince at all besides maybe covering a song?

I have never even heard of him prior to this.

Imelda

He used to be the lead singer of Savage Garden (Truly, Madly, Deeply, I Knew I Loved You). Then the band broke up, he went solo, then left Sny and set up his own record label. (Saw him in concert on Wednesday and he was FAB! wink)

Not got a clue about this Powdered Sugar Productions company though.

Maybe it was a mistake on their part and they meant Paisley Park. Write them back and ask for clarification. Oh, and are these earrings that you previously purchased legally and are resselling? If so, you have every legal right to do so. I would be interested in knowing because Prince's attorneys also stated, and I am paragraphsing, that they are not going after ebay sellers that are selling their own copies of purple rain, they are after the bootleggers.

I bought these earrings from the Vegas 3121 boutique and just put crystals on them and offered a variety of hoops on which to put the earrings on.

This really has me pissed off. There are scores of bootleg CDs and other fake Prince merchandise and nothing is done to those auctions. A few of the CD seller even STATE that the CDs ae copies of originals.

u need to send a counter-demand to ebay advising them that it is not copyright infringement and that you are indeed simply reselling an item you legally purchased from the 3121 store. They cannot stop you from selling the items.

I've sent them two emails since last night. They're taking their sweet old time getting back to me. And you can call and speak to a person, one of the WORST features of ebay. Even PayPal has a phone number. God only knows how long it's going to take to resolve this. mad mad mad

yeah, I remember reading that too. I don't think I really believe it which sucks b/c I have quite a bit of stuff that I need to sell (all official of course!) and now I'm worried they (eBay, Websheriff, etc) are going to hassle me. Especially since some of the stuff is promo/press photos from UTCM, SOTT, etc. sigh

good point. i didn't ask if she had stated this, i figured she probably had. technically she can legally alter the originals, but she needs to state that she has so that the consumer does not think the entire creation was prince's.
