I really hope you feel all stupid then for wasting this chance.
Don''t forget you are a musican, and you wasted the chance to see great musicans playing good music that you are familiar with. Don't you wanna see Blackwell playing drums? he must be better than you, it''s always good see musicans better than us. Like Prince, Blackwell and Renato Neto.

All he said is that he's not feeling Prince anymore because he (Prince) has changed. People change all the time, true, but to make a complete 360 is very rare. Generally people don't change that much and I certainly hope you don't think that "growing" means that you have to change completely. Some people need to, others don't.

Prince has turned out to be exactly the kind of person he rebelled against. If you dig it, good for you, just at least try to understand why others don't.

Here's my smartass remark of the day. Technically if he made a complete 360 he'd be back where he started. I think you meant 180.

Anyway, I think it's alot more common that people get relatively more conservative the older they get. Alot of folks you wouldn't recognize when they were twenty years younger. It happens. Now if Prince's personal life gets in the way of the music for you that's a shame, but that's your choice. I've never really gone along with his beliefs/actions even back in the wilder days so it's more about the music for me.

WB, if the prices in europe are anything like they are here,
then let me ask this would u spend that kinda loot on someone U didn't know? and weren't sure u would be vibing the thing of it? really NOW...

I would, and have, simply because I can afford to...and if it were my all-time, most favorite artist to ever grace the planet, and I couldn't afford the price of a ticket, I wouldn't go...Cloud's concern was not ticket affordability...it was the feeling that he might not like the concert...so I only addressed that part, like others here, and told him to take the chance, cuz the concert is that fierce...I, for one, feel his worries are misplaced...

You know, some would say that Prince did a complete 180 in terms of his personality and beliefs. But I disagree. Even back in the early '80s, I bet "Rudeboy" had a desire deep down that he wanted to better himself spiritually. He has always been spiritual.

I remember hearing how in the 90s when he was really acting like a heathen in the Gold days, he was really depressed and angry. Remember that story of him seeing some preacher in the elevator in 92 or so, and saying "Just pray for me, please". He was fighting his demons back then to become who he is today.

I hate to say it, but the main reason Im not going to see Prince on this current uk tour is that I dont want to. I dont want to see that, I want to see Prince. Its begun to dawn on me lately that hes not the same person he was when I first got into his music.

Anyone else getting this vibe sad?

VIBE? are you serious?? you must be in serious denial! he has said it for years now that he is not the "purple rain" man anymore... there is a big difference between being 19 and 43... u people are some serious shit heads... are you the same person you were when you were 19? you better hope not! people tend to grow over time (we hope) If you don't like Prince now GET THE FUCK OUT THIS SITE ALREADY AND STOP BITCHIN' ... welcome 2 the dawn...

I feel that too.
Nevertheless Cloud9, if you never saw PurpleAzze© Live, you should see him next time he comes in the neighborhood...
I personnaly get your vibe...but i saw him so many times live during the 80s', so that's another story.

If Nothing Compares 2 U Was the biggest hit played at any of those ONA concerts I'd have to ask prince who the fuck he thinks he is. I don't want to hear any jazz freestyle, THERE ARE MUCH BETTER JAZZ MUSICIANS THAN PRINCE! I want to see Prince be PRINCE not symbol or washed up old jerk.
Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. We are Sexually Frustrated what we R... Amen..!!! - zelaire

Okay what concert are you criticizing?

On this tour he's played songs like rasberry beret, purple rain (despite what he says), alphabet street,etc.. in addition to the new stuff and favorite non-hits like adore and HCUDCM.

Well said. Its not that I dislike him or that Im boycotting his show. I wish I was older, then I could have seen some of the great concerts that you guys are talking about. Prince is changing & thats not his fault, its expected but Im not sure if hes changing for the better anymore.

Of course Im very easy to please when it comes to Prince & its only been very recently that Ive begun to think that hes no longer reblious because he has become what he rebelled against.

I keep hearing stories of fansites being closed down, people being ripped off by the NPGMC & I think, Prince (or at least who I thought was Prince) wouldnt do that if he ever meant anything he said.

Im not trying to turn ya'll against him, just expressing a view I wish I didnt have sad

I'll be there next year I hope wink

He may still be rebellious, just rebellious in a different way. rebelling against some of your former beliefs is still rebelling, ya know?

Rebelliousness aside, he's always been something of an arrogant jerk. Just a different kind of jerk nowadays. Regardless, he still puts on a good show.

Yawn.

Until you've seen the shows you can't judge.

If you don't like it, quit whining and just get on with life.

I'm sorry, Lewis, this isn't really clear...

Just last week, you posted a thread saying you weren't going because you couldn't get tickets and couldn't get to Manchester.

This week, it's you're not going because Prince has changed.

What's really going on with you?

Cloud Nine you've missed the best Prince shows since 87'.
As a drummer you would not have taken your eyes of Blackwell all night,I know I didn't!! He' a monster!!!
Before it's too late get over to Europe and catch a show, I can tell you now, you won't be disappointed and it will restore the faith you had maybe lost lately.
Candy, Maceo, Blackwell,Prince, what the hell more do you need? lol

I was thinking about this. Somehow I get the feeling this may be Prince's last major tour. This is just speculation of course. When I saw him recently he seemd slightly jaded and tired. Maybe it was due to a gruelling schcedule, I hope so, but it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't tour again, either for a long time, or not at all.

big grin I am probably comepletely wrong, if so I will eat my straw hat big grin

He'll tour when he's inspired again. Right now, the Rainbow Children is doing it for him, and it certainly did it for me, man what a brilliant experience. Aftershow in London would have left you with no musical doubts, Cloud9. As for Prince not being the way you wanted and thought him to be, then it's worthwhile remembering that Prince is now free to do exactly as he pleases, and he's exercising that right at all times. It's not always tasteful but it's quite amusing and really enjoyable, musically speaking, again.

What the hell? Some of u folks seriously need help. This love/hate thing with prince is just sick. If u hate him move on to something u love. U will be happier and the rest of us won't have to hear u whine about your delusions. Nobody is losing sleep because u don't want to see prince live. I don't want to see Puff daddy live but don't feel the need to track down a website of his fans to state that. U need to check yourself because u have issues.

i was FINALLY able 2 DL 1+1+1=3 fron NPGMC becuz i had 2 replace my Hard Drive & reset my Cable Modem & it seems like P's Music is just as Funky. it's got a "Cool" Vibe 2 it & if P is still like that in Concert then he may have changed himself but his LIVE per4mances r the same. we do change as Individuals but Cloud9 u of all people know when u have The Cre8tor/God (Allah) in u'r Life it makes u a BETTER Person & P's still P...
Peace ... & Stay Funky ...
