The End of..."Let's pretend we're married."

When it comes to the "Controversy," that is associated with Prince,

The song, "Let's Pretend we're married," Is the perfect, historical,
generational topic.....

When you are singing about sex, or selling sex....As life does, It is'nt so
bad knowing that subject, is a mind opener to most....And verbally express,
your constitutional right to say something....And it is an explicit, personal
directive to a woman....and then, end the song with.....

"I'm in love with God, it's the only way, cuz' U and I know we gotta die someday...You think I'm crazy, you're probably right, but I'm gonna have fun every..mf night...U like 2 fight, you're a double drag fool...I'm goin' to another life...How bout' you?"

This emotional reaction, from the public, has gone way out of their spiritual vision....Regardless if Prince want to talk about sex in music...He doesn't believe in war!!!!" Why does he get such a bad rap for these things?

Prince was probably about 22 years old when he wrote "LPWM" and Prince is 49 now. This is the very reason why a man with this talent deserves respect...This song took spiritual gutz...good job Prince!!! The Risk award from me, and my opinion matterz....And, how's that for an attitude, if you don't watch evening soapz? cool

The whole social fight is about degrading sex and necessitating war....
in fact as prince and many artist project, its actually is the other way around IMO
... but war breeds power and control of the masses and sex just breeds, can u guess which brings more money to a society?

Hmmm trouble is contraception would settle one of the issues!

yes ur right ... its fab that an artist of that time made the effort to mix philosophies so as to possibly gather a larger audience.... art needs to appeal to a large segment of society as that it can b received by a larger number of people and understood by some....

hmmm thats why soaps coyld b SOOOOO much more clever than they r....
but arhhh, arn't we all supposed 2b Escaping Reality (not my opinion, just thats what people tell me!). wink

The key word in the line "if you LIKE to fight...." is "LIKE." That is NOT to say that was is not at times necessary. Sure one can apply such rhetoric to the Iraq, however, no matter how delusional Prince is or was he still KNOWS that without war or at the very least the threat of war there could be no lasting peace. Not until we become enlightened, and the 2nd coming of the Christ seems just as likely as any other means to that end.

I would say almost on one LIKES to fight. Bush doesn’t like this war. His personal reasons for going may differ from what he said they were, and his reason my fall short of any real justification, but they are not war for the sake of war.

This song is from the same person that sang "party up" (which legend has it was stolen, from Morris Day IIRC.)

And what do you mean BAD RAP? His reputation of singing nasty songs is very well earned. He has taken on the task of living that down. And it seems to be working.

I agree with u all, however educating a young society daily is what needs to be addressed as far as an oncoming confronting future....Sex is gonna be an issue whether Prince is singing about it or not.
