So, which one and in which color is the ultimate Prince guitar?

Since the Hohner is getting some attention, can someone explain this to me. The Hohner was made after the Fender Telecaster (and is at present no longer available: www.hohner.eu). This always make me think of the Hohner in a way that the Squier is to the Stratocaster, as B status. So how come Prince choose that as his guitar?

What, no love for the Model C?

I gotta go with #2 & The Blue Angel as I find myself watching any performance with that guitar. It's something about the finish on it.

All the other guitars just look silly and stupid, accept for the Fender Stratocaster (4)

My favorite is the Hohner, of course.

Number two would be a white Cloud guitar..or peach...or baby blue but I don´t like the dark blue one he used to play in the late 90´s.

Number three is the Symbol/Habibi guitar...too bad it is not the complete symbol since that is technically almost impossible to build. I once saw a Todd Rundgreen guitar that looked a bit like the symbol guitar. I like Habibi because he is the only one who plays it and it is( or was) his name. Its only flaw is the fact that it is not 100% accurate when it comes to looking like the symbol.

Model C is OK for old times sake, it sounds cool but looks a bit to over-the-top and 80ish.

The blue Strat is OK but way too average looking for Prince´s standards. His other guitar are a part of his persona, they are his trademark guitars but the Strat, as good as it might be technically, is too normal to be cool enough for Prince but I understand that there´s some sort of nostalgia attached to it ( he said Sonny T. used to play that model when they were teenagers).

Least interesting one is that Gibson model or whatever that is.

I hate the symbol guitar.

I'm a sucker for Telecasters, so I like the Hohner, and the Cloud (the black one with Batman inlays= ), and his blues strat is pretty bombing too...

#6 I've seen A LOT of... in Purple Rain and also at The Brits... and he made some great sound come out of that.

Love the Fender Stratocaster in baby blue... the first time I saw that guitar was the "Best of You" cover at the SuperBowl... but it sounded beautiful when he used it for "Shh" in Hong Kong... just go nuts for that.

And of course, the guitar in purple (SuperBowl) and in gold (in the video for "Gold").

I'm not sure if I could pick one as the ultimate. Love all of these.

Fender's are usually Ash or Alder. The Hohner is made of ALL 100% Maple, which has a lot of punch and sounds kinda brittle and bright. I guess he likes that.....

That's a good point, he does seem to prefer one guitar for a certain sound, or genre even. Like someone said on another thread: hohner for the rock/funk sound, cloud to please the hardcore fans, symbol for the arena shows, stat for the full rock sound.
