Will Prince make a musically challenging album like R.C. on a major? I'm listening to the One Nite Alone...Live! box set. and I marvel at the level of musicianship and showmanship he exhibits here, and every other concert tour he has embarked on. However, how many times have the majority of Prince fans (including myself) after listening to Prince's latest studio release found yourself wanting more and expecting more. I'm not talking about him making a sequel to "Purple Rain", "SOTT" or "1999". But the elements of experimentation, uncertainty and boldness is missing from Musicology, 3121, and Planet Earth. PE comes the furthest of any interesting and replay-pushing button songs. I've read the reviews at 3121.com about P playing boogie-woogie style piano, and if he could incorporate those things into his songwriting and production it would further solidify his standing as a great songwriter. I was amazed at "Avalanche", but i guess as long as he releases music via the majors he would be too hard pressed to make an album where commericial considerations are secondary. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

but if he did experimentation for experimentation's sake then it wouldnt be experimental!
THE obvious next move would do a NEWS/TRC lp so i dont reckon he will. wouldnt surprise me if he scored a movie

You really need to get out more if you think R.C. is truly "musically challenging" and "experimental".
