My local FYE has it and still does. I've been considering it for a while, but I'm not completely sure.

Of course it's worth it, Prince has never let his competency wane as a live performer, and it may be the last pieces of footage of him dancing like he did when he was young. Also, the seldom performed She's Always In My Hair alone is worth it for me.

Anxiety

I'd rate it just below Charmin and Angel Soft in terms of sheer absorbency.

Wow, I'm excited to hear that. I wasn't expecting him to be performing that at all.

When I first got it it seemed like such a lack of energy from the crowd it kinda bored me...then after viewing it some time later...I just focused on the band and I changed my mind about it...I really liked when Larry Graham and Prince did the Sly covers and I don't know what the name of the song was but the blues type number Prince did right after is really awesome.

Also check out the bonus grooves...Prince and George Clinton kick the shit out of "Flashlight" together!!!! love2

It's not the greatest era, but it's still Prince, and it's still funky. The picture quality and sound is far superior to the Aladdin DVD (which is a pity, because the Aladdin is much better musically).

It's worth it just to see him do 7 splits in a row!

Its good but not the best, but worth it for "she's always in my hair",the stage dive and the bit where P does the "magic" bit with the piano,oh and Lenny Kravitz. Thought the audience were pretty dead tho eek

not the greatest dvd release. However, one part sticks in my mind. It is when Lenny and Prince are jamming on American Woman. Prince kinda takes a back seat on the song providing backing vocals and crunching guitar riffs. Lenny takes a solo and the band begin to vamp. Prince motions to Lenny "is it my turn now" and then Blows that faker out of the water with a beautiful solo of his own.

never gets talked about here.

I bought this only last week!
Musically, liked the versions of Kiss, U Got The Look and nice to hear She's Always In My Hair. Also cool seeing him do American Woman with Lenny Kravitz but I felt it went downhill from there. It's obviously meant to be more of a party than a straight off gig but for me there were just too many other performers. Turns into Sly & Family Stone gig for a while. And Larry Graham singing on The Cross (The Christ) nooooo. Sickly sweet / overly religious version of Purple Rain as well was dissapointing. Probably being a bit negative about it as there is a lot to enjoy in it.The crowd surfing & the bluesy guitar section other highlights.
Sound & picture quality are very good but one more gripe for me (and one that really wound me up) was the editing. Think this was done by a five year old with attention deficit disorder. Don't think one camera shot is kept for more than 2 seconds before it changes to another angle and gets really annoying after a while.
That's only my opinion though, there aren't enough live Prince DVD's and definitely worth getting this and watching with an open mind (ie ignore everything i said!), i think some fans will love the diversity of it and seeing him duetting & playing with so many other performers and looks like he's really enjoying himself.I've ordered the Live at the Aladdin DVD and looking forward to seeing that. Also picked up SOTT DVD and looking forward to seeing that again!

It's really good - that bit with him backing up Kravitz is great. Also, he does a slow blues (like 'Red House') and his playing is really special on that. True, it's not Sign O the Times, but it's not bad. Another snapshot of him at another time.

Well worth your dosh. biggrin

its alright i guess.

Moris Day and The Time's performance's are excellent. Plus some of Princes stuff he deos is pretty nifty. I just dont like Rosie Gaines at ALL.

Some of the upclose crotch shots are a bit eye opening as well. The cover is pretty disturbing too!
