Favourite songs that Prince has written for other artists?

Ok just busy at work checking out some old threads and came across this one.

I noticed that 1 of my favourite Prince penned tunes is not there so here is my favourite song prince has written for someone else...

Oooh! Great song. I was just listening to the extended version of this last night.

I also like the song he did for Jill Jones "For Love". The 12" mix is killer!!

I'm pretty sure Prince DID NOT write Love Is Contagious. I think the only Prince penned song on her first album was Wouldn't You Love To Love Me. But I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

One of my favourites written for other artists has to be Manic Monday.

In no particular order:

The Family - screams of Passion:
A really brilliant arrangement (beat, psychedelic synthsounds, baroque strings) and some poetic lyrics overshine the fact that Paul and Susannah arent really great singers.

Jill Jones - Mia Bocca:
In terms of the arrangement, i think this is still the best thing Prince (with the help of Clare Fisher and Jill Jones of course) has ever put on record.
The combination of the dry, hard electrofunkbeat, the orchestra (moving from strings to woodwinds and topping it off with 'the copper') and Jills almost Nina Hagenesque' vocals works brilliantly.

Chaka Kahn - Sticky Wicked
An overlooked gem in my opinion. The arrangement echoes the sober productionstyle Prince used on many songs from Sign of the Times, while some surprising breaks and bridges point forward to the sound of the Lovesexy album. The almost 'abstract' trumpetplaying by Miles Davis is the icing on the cake.

Sheila's "Love on a Blue Train" is so much fun. It fits in so well with the joyousness of the whole Lovesexy era.

Manic Monday, always seems to come on at work at the right time. Fits almost all the time to my mood. Also Shhh. I am not sure about that one, got the impression it was written for or given to Tevin Campbell back in the day, great song.

He wrote it for himself, though. She just covered it.

Mia Bocca and Love, Thy Will Be Done are incredible.

Wow....No Sheila E songs?

Well my anthem is the Glamorous Life, so I suppose that'd be my number one.
