The Video of Lovesexy released was in the UK in 2 parts.

I donot have it. I just saw it listed. I do not think I can watch a PAL video.

I got both parts on VHS for £2 each. They are second hand and I think had only been watched once (if at all) as they're in tip top condition. Blockbuster were getting rid of all their videos one day so they'd be DVD-only and I felt like I'd hit the jackpot
You're best bet is probably charity shops or record fairs. Thats for VHS anyway, I don't know about DVD.

I eventually saw about a half an hour of the center of the movie...at someone's house...sadly, I never invested in a movie channel....I look
forward to seeing the movie in full some day.

I watched Lovesexy Live last week for the first time in years on a 40 inch HDTV via my PS3. I don't have a video player anymore and I didn't expect to see this again but when I got the opportunity to 'transfer' it onto the PS3 I didn't wait!

The quality wasn't perfect but way better than the degraded VHS tapes I had.

In this day and age of criticism and negativity, it reminded me why I was so inspired by Prince.

I've also just recently 'transfered' Prince and the Revolution Live in Syracuse 1985 onto my PS3 to show my wife (a recent Prince convert) the much lauded concert.

Both these gems would have remained buried in my fading memory otherwise.

Prince should (but I know he won't) have these remastered and re-released on Blu Ray.

If Warner Bros had these I bet they'd be scheduled for release by now...

Track down the Laserdisc version PAL only for UK/Europe .. it is the only Digital format of this concert that was ever released. It is however slightly edited from the VHS version.

I saw the original broadcast on TV (nineteen years ago) and I'm aware that Anna Stesia was omitted to allow for a commercial break - but what is missing from the laserdisc?

First things 1st...Dortmund 88 broadcast live ( with a delay for edits) on TV in the UK by C4 filmed by Granda Tv crews in Germany.

The original VHS versions AND the re issued Channel 5 ( gold edge cover) version had the shows labellled WRONG..part one is the second half of the show. I think they did that because most of the LOVESEXY songs were on that half.

the edits .ok I know I'm really picky here ..are at the end of Anastesia..and before Eye No ..the band dressed as "cleaners" brush up all of the confetti etc. on the stage before they disappear under it .. and Cat reappears with the Flowers and Rain is wet chat..!
its only about 3 mins but annoys the hell out of me..!As does Eye No and Lovesexy being cut in half to close and open each side of the disc..!

I transferred my LD to Dvd-r recently, looks great and sounds amazing.!
