listening to sott, given who if i was yr g'friend was written for, do you see any significance in the song that follows it?

Not really.

It wasn't originally planned for them to follow on from each other, but theme-
wise they work well that way. And they're not actually about the same person
either (Strange Relationship was originally recorded back in 1982, while he
was recording the 1999 album).

I am pretty sure I read that If I Was Your Girlfriend was written about Susannah Melvoin. He wanted the relationship Susannah had with her twin sister Wendy...

Strange Relationship was actually written in like 82? I think. So that one could be about Vanity, Jill Jones, or one of the number of other girls he was bangin at the time.

either way they are 2 of the best songs on SOTTs!
