haha... I kept getting albums in installments of 2 or 4. Then when Planet Earth came out, there was a curveball.
It was always an interesting experience to get 2 at a time and see how each one feels against the other.
Although I kinda overloaded when I had my first 4, not to mention I was seeing PR for the first time. That vibe DID NOT mix well with TGE because it was so strange to me in comparison. It still kinda is, but there's some great music on it.
2 albums at a time is pretty good, though, especially if they're back 2 back like Dirty Mind & Controversy. That was a fun week.
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I think it helps to purchase these and listen in the order they were produced...

Dirty Mind
Controversy
1999
Purple Rain
Around The World In A Day
Parade

Be warned though - The Org Majority seriously overrates a number of awful albums, these being: The Gold Experience; N.E.W.S.; Diamonds & Pearls; Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic; The Rainbow Children; Chaos And Disorder.

Oh contraire (however u spell that). A lot of people actually like The Gold Experience (you talked me into it, remember?!) giggle I'd just say it's not necessarily the best album for beginners, but I'm kinda weird like that too.

Listening to those albums in order... now that's a ride. I've done at least the first 3 (but not when I first got them). People've told me to get his albums in order and listen to them in order. I did no such thing and I think I turned out okay. thumbs up!

You must be confusing me with somebody else. I absolutely DETEST that album. Maybe two or three good songs and the rest are just fingernails-on-a-chalkboard awful.

If I never heard 'Dolphin' again, it would be too soon.

Sign of the Times, Purple Rain and 1999 are really easy for anyone to get into quickly. I personally love Grafitti Bridge but I've probably got loads of associations from my teenage years when I first listened to it which might influence my judgement of it! I reckon from the list of most recommended the main gap in my collection is parade, i'll buy it asap!
You might not like the taste but I'm still gonna stick your face in this FUNK
