Interacting With Prince During Rehearsals

So, did anyone try to assemble all the questions people asked Prince and his answers?

And what kind of questions did he like and what questions pissed him off?

And what kind of behaviour pissed him off?

Common, you people from the US!
Tell us about the rehearsal experience!

I asked him if he was gonna add any new songs to the set list at the cleveland show and he shot me a mean stare, lol. I just blurted something out because I wanted to ask him a question. In hindsight, it was a stupid question, but damn! LOL

That's what I'm talking about, nobody should feel the need to blurt something out just for the sake of it. We'll end up with a rehearsal full of people shouting "Prince! Look at me! PRINCE! PRIIINCE!" trying to get some attention. Just sit back and let him work!

yeah we better not get a load of sad losers shouting out stuff like "Prince... i've written a song 4 u!"

Or "Prince I have gift 4 u!"

Look-a-likes as well... Don't do it! Have some originality! He doesn't look at u and go, "Oh... that's so cute. U must be my biggest fam!"

It's just SAD!

I like the part from the Buffalo rehearsal where this one dude says "Put the best people in front" (for backgrounds to The Last December) and the man just kinda laughs and says "Man, that's on you, I ain't got nothing to do with that!"

You know, neither the q's or his answers were highly spiritual, but who gives a fuck. I think it's sweet just listening to a recording of Prince talking about how he's slept too long or how his hands get "real cold sometimes".

We shouldn't get that in London... we're british and we don't show our emotions.
Actually there was a great show on last night called Ultimate Force about the SAS. The team were in a pub to drink to the memory of a friend who had died... they made a toast to his memory and then after 2 seconds of silence said "Ok, thats enough of that.. we're not Americans."
Made me laugh anyway.

Hmmm. I thought all those folks falling down and crying in the streets when Princess Diana passed away were British wink

My opinion ONLY!!!

I think it depends on how many people show up for the Sound Checks. It seems that there was more interaction when the crowd wasn't as large. (by reading concert reports)

When there's a larger crowd seems to be more of a mini pre-show concert.

just my twocents

Never saw anything like that personally, but then again I wouldn't waste my time watching some morbid funeral of an overrated celebrity.

Prince, I have a question:

"Why don't you move to England, we're much nicer and our weather is THAT bad!"

Only kidding wink
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

L.A. Sound Check 4/20

Some blonde in the 7th row;
"Prince! Prince! Remember me?" (She stands up n Prince looks at her.)
"Hilton Hotel 1993?"

Prince; "uh no."
shakes head
"Don't you hate it when people just make stuff up?"

(She now sits down very embarrased. I was just wondering what she expected him to say...)

Other highlights...
"Happy Early Birthday Prince!"
Prince; "I don't celebrate birthdays"
"I celebrate your birthday!"
P;" u celebrate my birthday? Good. You can age for the both of us."

Photographer taking pictures of Prince n the band, While taking a photo of John, John does this funny pose n I shout out " 2 Sexy" (kinda like the Antonio Bandaras skit on Saturday Night Live) Prince shoots me a look like "man the girls are supposed to say that, not you!"

Prince asks us how many of us are going to the Celebration?
We yell yea!
"I am thinking bout making it members only this year"
"We are thinking bout doing an album a night."
"Someone suggested we do Lovesexy so that is an idea."
"I think we will be performing a few songs for the last time to be put to bed."
"Little Red Corvette. Oh man. Little Red Corvette. Mind if it goes?"
"I hate that song"
Then people start requesting songs. Shouting em out.
(me personaly was pissed when they were requesting songs that were gonna be played that night)
He kinda went back into playing mode then.
4/19 Soundcheck was not as personal as 4/20 n the 4/20 date had more NPGMC members.
Cool thing bout 4/19 was him walking thru the crowd stage left n walking towards the back n when people started turning thier heads round, he said "What are u all looking at? There is nothing to see."
He then sits down in a chair n puts his foot up n starts belting out Extraordinary. All the while Mani is right behind him taking pictures.

Yes, the smaller crowds means more Q n A. It also depends on his mood. How good the sound system is.
Best Soundcheck memory is the first one ever for NPGMC members.

I wish he would do that again since mine was stolen. I really Pray he does that and this time signs Prince. God knows this as true I once hung outside of the Ritz Carlton as a small girl and didn't get his autograph and this guy waved his at me saying I got it . He told me he got it that day when Prince was coming out of the Hotel and Allen Leeds told us well if he feels like it he'll sign your albums. I was outside of the Palladium's Michael Todd room and I met Prince who looked at me and smiled . I was so small this was 1986. Even though I am a girl well I looked like a boy with a short Ingrid haircut and flat chest and little mini skirt the costume from the Mountains video. Well at least on our first meeting he smiled. I wish he only remembered. Maybe he does who knows. I realize I am like a child or a kid and he is used to Older Women. I can't Believe he is so Mature. All I know is when he was with Dave-El and Rocky the driver everything was so Cool . Likewise I believe with Allen Leeds who I think was an Excellent tour manager.
