Oh, jeez I hadn't thought of it like that! But, the non-Camille SOTT tracks would've probably made up the next album anyway, so... [Edited 9/26/07 22:02pm]

No Doubt. I think it would have been as much of a hit as SOTT was - although at least around here most people hated If I was Your Girlfriend when it was released as a single, so who knows. Keep your headphones on.

All true, and it doesn't help that all the guys I knew immediately assumed prince was gay when that song came out... Keep your headphones on.

it would have been a hit, Prince was still commercially viable in those days. Also it would have got good reviews (which would have helped it).
I personally beleive that IIWYGF could never be a hit (unless its sang by girls) because of the homosexual connotations on first listen. I do beleive that Strange Relationship, Feel U Up and Shockadelica could have been hits if marketed properly. particularly SL.

I'd buy it in heartbeat! Fabulous! I think that Camille was one of my favourite alter-ego's.
On the IIWYGF debate - I have to say that I'm glad it was never released as a single to be pulled apart by the philistines, I see it as a rare and beautiful gift for those of us that cared enough to buy the album I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

I know theres no point in saying this, but I strongly disagree with you! Prince was hot back then, a couple of songs would have been hits.

Oh,I agree...there surely would have been a few hits on this album. The album would have done well with R&B audiences, but I don't think it would have been a major, mainstream album for Prince (like 'SOTT').This album probably would have had the same impact as 'The Black Album' and would have easily went gold, but probably not platinum.

I wish they'd release Rebirth of the Flesh. It deserves more than a mention in "walk don't walk", and that rehearsal that only members of his club got. Keep your headphones on.

It would've been a five star album. Oh well, at least I can make it a playlist on my iPod. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

let's see - that would have been released after Parade? then yes i think it might have gone down as a stone cold classic by critics and fans. No SOTT its true though some tracks might have gone to the next album - lovesexy - but perhaps then no batman and no graffiti bridge
