Theres a few Prince biogs on amazon and i'm not sure which one to get first Which one do you recommend? Thanks

'DanceMusicSexRomance: Prince The First Decade' by Per Nilsen is a superb account of Prince's life up until 1988.

There are other books that predate this but I think this is the best.

Biographies which cover later parts of his career with varying degrees of success include:

Slave To The Rhythm (also titled 'Purple Reign'): Liz Jones (Runs up to 1996)
Possessed: The Rise And Fall Of Prince: Alex Hahn (Runs up to 2001)
Thief In The Temple: Brian Morton (Only recently published but short and races through the latter part of his career with little information)

The Alex Hahn book is often criticised partly for its inaccuracies, but usually for its style and agenda by some fans. It relies upon the same source material as Per Nilsen used and involved a number of further interviews with Prince associates.
