What words, when you hear 'em, make u... ... automatically think of Prince or start singing one of his songs?
Here are some of mine. * Minneapolis (I'm like "that's where Prince is from" ) * Pumps (makes me think of 'Lolita') * Prints (thanx 2 Psych... "we've got prints." "Was he in a little red corvette under the cherry moon?" "Finger prints!")... makes me jump 2 conclusions all the time now. I've got plenty more, but this is all I think of right now. This'll be a one of those PurpleNeck type threads. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Everytime I hear the word "Electric" I think of my favorite Prince song "Electric Intercourse". Some kinda crazy reaction. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

I've found myself typing "does not compute" a lot more after getting 1999.
Well, there's another right there. When "1999" comes, I think of the song. *The same goes for years. I automatically associate them with the album from that year. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

The moment I pick up the phone and hear the dialling tone, I have to say '319, please?'
In the UK, we have this Project Management thing called Prince2. Nuff said, and I bet every UK Orger who works in an environment involving this, will know. And now, any two-by-two pairing of 4 numbers I come across, I have to 'sing' to the tune of 3121. Like the combination locks on the doors at work which are four figures, or amounts of money, eg £35.67 or whatever. The breakfast cereal Cinnamon Grahams, is usually sung to the obvious tune. Recently, whenever anybody mentions their pc screen resolution, it usually involves me asking 'how many people, really want resolution?' to bewildered results.

Yeah, I shoulda mentioned that! That's a really obvious one, but we never get sick of it. (And neither does Prince, apparently, he still has at least one mention of "purple" in his albums). had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Minneapolis: I never really thought of the city until I discovered Prince.
1999: I will always think of Prince whenever reference to this year is made. Controversy: I never knew what the word meant until I heard the song and asked my grandmother what it meant. Head and Jack U Off: When I was listening to these songs back in 1980 and 1981, I didn't know what the words meant. I learned their meaning when I snuck and found my uncle's Penthouse magazines and read the words used in sentences in the forums. You could say that it was Prince that taught me about sex. Purple: Everytime I see this color, I think of Prince. Pheremone and Endorphine: I never had heard of these words either until Prince. . . [Edited 9/25/07 15:39pm] Andy is a four letter word.

Controversy: I never knew what the word meant until I heard the song and asked my grandmother what it meant. The first... very true 4 me! In fact, if it wasn't for Prince, I wouldn't have really gotten on edge about the bridge collapse a month or so ago. (I was thinking "I hope Prince wasn't involved in the accident"). But "Controversy"... that I do A LOT. When I hear or read it, I automatically say "controversy" like he does in the song. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. Over the years, Prince has used all kind of big or "proper" words in some of his lyrics. During high school, I hated the vocabulary part of English class (learning big words that you will probably never use in life). I learned a lot of big and "proper" words over the years from listening to Prince music. If the English teacher wanted us to remember new words, she should have set the words to some funk rather than having us study them in a book. . . How can I forget the main word "Prince" which makes me instantly think of Prince. Any time they mention a particular prince such as Prince Charles, I immediately think of Prince.
The tabloids know it too. I remember when the movie "Purple Rain" was out, there was a headline in a tabloid that said "Prince falls off of bike". I opened the magazine and the article was about Prince Charles' son falling off his bicycle. They knew how to get people's attention. Andy is a four letter word.

Minneapolis
Prince (as in actual royalty) Princess Prints $19.99 Guitar London (the past few months) Las Vegas (the last year or so) Also, words or phrases from his songs or movies. At the moment I am watching "Who's the Boss" (don't ask) and Mona just said "It's getting warm in here" and I immediately thought of Scandalous Sex Suite when Kim B. says "it's getting warm in here." Every day I hear (or say) something that reminds me of Prince, his music and/or movies. To GOD be the Glory!

During my long weekend with the family, we were driving to a family wedding. And we drove by a church of Jehovah's Witnesses and I was like I didn't know they actually had their own churches. I thought they just traveled door 2 door and annoy people with their persistence. But if Prince ever came 2 my door, I wouldn't turn him away. And I at the latter.
