4 Prince Records that Need To Be Lengthened and 4 Prince Records that Should Have Been Shorter (like this thread title) Hmm, Lengthier: Sign O the Times. Too much good material, should have stuck with Crystal Ball format
Purple Rain: Again loads of quality material from this era, could have put the B sides on a 2 disc set along with Sex Shooter, The Bird and Modernnaire (okay forget the associate artist material, add lengthy Computer Blue and Electric Intercouse Dirty Mind: Add Lisa and Gotta Stop , try to make this skimpy release at least 45 mins, he was on a roll Crystal Ball: Fill the discs, get rid of the excrement (remixes) and include Schoolyard, In a Large Room... Honorable mention: One Night Alone (Piano) Shorten: Emancipation -a given I think for obvious reasons Gold experience meanders too much and rid of silly NPG operator Likewise for Symbol record, too much fat and rap, bye Kirstie Crystal Ball - Shorten to 2 discs of the more essential of the 3 disc set Honorable mention: Graffiti Bridge merf

Purple Rain: totally agree... there's so much good material there that I feel like there should be more, haha. Dirty Mind: I'll ponder that for a while. I really enjoy Lisa, so I wonder where we could slip that in. But after Uptown started, he was on such a roll that I hated for him to stop, haha. I'll lend my comments on Emancipation when I get it (probably won't comment on it for a while after I get it... that's one summer right there). Now for the last 2. TGE and I have a complex relationship. Like a love-hate one. I'd like to chill with it and let it wash over me... but having to flip thru the NPG operators (and Now) is a pain sometimes and it "spoils the flow". Then it & Come could really have it out for my #1 spot. , I agree, could be shortened quite a bit... take out the gangsta rapping in the first 3 tracks and Arrogance & The Flow and I'm happy. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

As far as "Emancipation" goes...I listened to it a lot...I had the CD in the house and still have the tapes in my car. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I agree I really enjoyed Emancipation and listen to it time to time even today.
Talking about the Gold Experience album the song that is my favorite on that record that I wish he would have added more verses in is "I Hate U".It was way too much talking for me to listen and truley enjoy it. I loved that the melody sounded like a love song but his words were passionate, angry and yet he admitted that he still loved her but couldnt..it sended chills down my spine.Saying again WAY too much talking and not enough singing. But thats the only song that comes to mind when your talking about extending. U want to know the secreat of love and happiness? Love GOD with all your heart, mind soul and strength. And love your neighboor as yourself.
