Does Calvin Harris Sample Prince? If you listen to Calvin Harris' "Acceptable in the '80s", there's a drum beat that sounds like a sampled drum note from "Computer Blue". Anyone else hear this? Does anyone think it was lifted from Prince, because it sounds EXACTLY like the drum on Computer Blue. "I Was FINE Back in the Day!"

It really does sound to me like he managed to cleanly sample one of the drum taps from the opening of Computer Blue. Could be that he used the Linn drum machine, but from what I've heard the L1 is really hard to come by these days. And then to be able to replicate Prince's sound to a T... You can buy a CD of the Linn drum machine's individual sounds, sample them and then use a sequencer to create drum patterns. With the Linn sounds, a sampler and some sequencing software, hey presto, you've effectively got the Linn drum machine. Is this Calvin character any good? Somewhere Here On Earth
