I'm growing, but I don't think I'm maturing. Basting is probably more like it. [Edited 9/23/07 13:54pm]

You can grow and mature without totally destroying your old creations...lol What we have now is not even progress but a conformation to the norm. Where's the risktaker?

the only risk taking is done in promotion and distribution
when he stops playing school with all the little girls is when I'll think he's matured.

Playing house would be implying that he's screwing someone...playing school is controlling those young ladies every move and acting like "Teacher", sort of like a puppet master

[Edited 9/22/07 15:48pm] Thanks not that I wouldn't put it past him to have sex with a pretty girl....he's a guy that could be expected. But I believe he has control issues, and time nor becoming saved has helped him in changing this...that's why I can't believe he's changed much, nope, not much growth there

I don't think he's ashamed at all. I just watched the clip from 3121 and he played songs from 1990, 1986, and 1992 or 3. Prince is constantly playing his old songs.
At Musicology he played DMSR. The themes are the same. Party, have fun, dance, be sensual, etc. "Work it like you want some more" is not so different from "work your body like a whore" but the specific message isn't so negative to women that are young enough to be his daughters. My Legacy

If anything's changed I think it's that he doesn't feel the need to ne so shocking anymore. When he was really "in the game" he used whatever tactic he could to get attention. Now he gets attention just by being himself and playing good music.
Not to mention he's beem pidgeonholed as a "dirty" singer. The fact that he hasn't sworn on an album since 1998 goes ignored by most people, and it probably drives him nuts. He'll probably cuss again once everyone starts thinking of him as a "clean" singer My Legacy

I found an old interview July 04 and he wasn't ashamed then.
http://query.nytimes.com/...A9629C8B63 On tour, he has been reaching into his old repertory for songs like ''Purple Rain'' and ''D.M.S.R.,'' which stands for ''Dance Music Sex Romance.'' Is he embarrassed now by some of the raunchier songs in his catalog? ''Embarrassed?'' he said with a smile. ''I don't know that word. Have you seen my outfits?'' Prince is magic

I could really feel where he was coming from. I hope its true, because to erase the past and deny what is a part of you is just awful. Its like cutting off a limb, seriously.
