I think its amazing that... Prince doesn't have a set list for his shows. I read somewhere that he made his band learn 150 songs just so he could go with whatever he felt like.
I went to see him on the 9th September, my sister went the week before and I was amazed to discover that he does different songs everynight. Its such a breath of fresh air to go and see an artist who isn't doing the same dance routines/songs each time. I went to see Justin Timberlake in May and that was great (dont get me wrong Im a huge JT fan) but when I looked for videos of the concert on youtube each opening night was the same old routine-whereas Prince starts with a different opening each night. Admittedly those who have seen Prince .live a couple of times might be used to his impulsiveness but since it was my first time I sat there for half the night in complete awe of the man! Oh Princey if your free for a couple of hours...If you aint busy for the next 7 years...Lets Pretend were married, and go all night.. | |

Im with you bex! I was a 'Live Newbie' until last month. and I had the same reaction when reading all the different songs he was doing each night. Id kiss his feet if he'd ever let me get close enough! I need Prince tunes on the Rock Band game! PLEEEEEEASE, im prepared to beg. | |

He does have a setlist - they were ripping them off the floor of the stage at the end last night. Sorry to burst any bubbles.  | |

Oh right - well he sort of does, except it's a huge list so he picks his favs.
But yes, it's great that he prepares so many songs - but I always look at having no setlist as meaning you choose what to play whilst out on stage. | |

no Im sure he must decide before he gopes on stage what hes going to play each night, I just meant the fact that he opens with different songs each night and performs different stuff each night.
Like on the night I went he opened with lets go crazy but the night my sister went he opened with 1999-and he did stuff on her night that he didnt do on my night and vice versa.
