So Prince no longer want to be a star...

Or at least someone in his camp he's given entirely too much power to...no longer wants him to be a star! What can we do to speed up this process?

Boycott all things Prince?

Garage sales of all of our Prince stuff?

Stand back and watch as the Piratebay rips him a new asshole?

Come on, y'all, let's help 'em out!!

Prince doesn't need our help. If he wants to alienate people, he's doing very well on his own.

What the hell is wrong with him anyway? Do you think he's possibly got a psychological issue?

LMAO!! Yeah but he's been doing that for decades! He just had us to rely on to counter his bullshit with sales and continued support. So he was able to maintain. Unlike so many of his counterparts that fell by the waste side. (I couldn't even try to list them all.)

The difference this time is the alienation affects in one way or another, the majority of those that helped him maintain during his previous brainfarts. Which leads me to believe that either Prince himself or someone he's trusted with too much power and time on their hands,(Anybody seen Larry, lately?) no longer want Prince to be a star.

He's on record as one of the first high profile celebrities to embrace the internet in all it's unruly glory, way back in the day! Just last year, his happy ass was given a lifetime achievement Webby award for that shit!

I think he just wants retire without the fanfare and this is his way of ensuring just that! I say we help him. It's the least we can do. wink

I've noticed that people are still going to Metallica shows and buying their records, despite Metallica having sued Napster.

Dr Dre too remains popular.

WHO CARES? It's all about the music people.

I care because he's my favorite musician. If anyone else was doing this type of thing, we'd be discussing that here, too.

The man got issues, allright. That's old news. He's lost touch with the real world a long time ago. That's what fame, combined with a huge ego can do to a person.

He has a psychological issue due to not being okay with YOUTUBE showing his work for free?

You know none of the artist whose work you are veiwing on YOUTUBE are receiving any compensation and they certainly are not asked if they would like to have the footage placed on the site.

Nothing crazy about asking for compensation for your work and don't start bitching that P has plenty of money. No one ever has enough money and he has given a lot of material away for free.

I just think he wants to make the decision on what is going to be free and what is going to be for profit.

If you guys boycott an artist over his personal business decision you have psychological issues. No fan is being sued. YOUTUBE is being sued. Get off the corporate tit.

Aside from the YouTube disaster, it's well known that P has a screw loose. If you can't see that, then you must be blind. And yes, there IS such a thing as having enough money already, which sort of contradicts his whole Jehovah's WEAKNESS lifestyle.

Snap

Prince has never shown any inclination that he'll be releasing any of his past work... i mean, when was the last time he did that? 10 years ago? if he's not going to use it for profit, then let us us "profit" from it, y'know? he could leave the internet alone, release better qualities of his songs and videos, and we'd buy it. i don't know what he's so fearful about -- he's not got nothing to lose, but fans.

You should try gettting off Prince's tit before telling us what to do. No fan i s being sued...yet? If this nonsense really goes forward and it actually ends up in court...since youtube as a corporation aren't the ones uploading Prince's shit...which is what he has the problem with...who do you think the judge is going to give Prince, WebSheriff and anybody else that feels like it, authorization to go after? Hmmm?
