1 Prince classic rock song...

I'm making a classic rock playlist and I'm looking to add 1 prince track. I'm think between "Little red corvette" (more of a classic), "Bambi" (rocks hard), or "electric chair" (excellent song).

Which should I choose? And I'm open to other suggestions...

So essentially I'm asking:

Which is the classic Prince rock song?

There's no argument from me that a ton of prince's music is "classic", and I'd even say many of his "classic" songs are rocking, but for a true classic rock selection, I think you'd have to go with Purple Rain.

sad Which is a shame cuz I'm so sick of that song. smile

I love the song 2 death...

but "the perfect pop song" is a better description.

"Let's Go Crazy" is a good choice, I think. Not his best, but it sets the bar for all of his other music, I think.

Prince writes tons of classics, but he and his music are so left of center that one would be hard pressed to come up with anything that would work within the context of a conventional classification.

With that firmly in mind, here is some Prince rock to use to select that one perfect song to fit in your collection:

Bambi (Naïve, turn-a-lesbian’s head rock.)
When You Were Mine (Even with a punk attitude, as normal as it gets.)
Purple Rain (Might not be understood, but won’t likely offend either.)
Let’s Go Crazy (Too popular sounding for some, but still rocks.)
She’s Always In My Hair [6:35 version] (It’s funky, but it rocks with equal aplomb.)
Peach (Funky dime-store rock.)
Endorphinmachine [rawer version] (Unconventional hard rock, like “Electric Chair”.)
Gold (Rock anthem of choice after “Purple Rain”.)
In This Bed I Scream (Tormented rock with rhythm.)
I like It There (Straight-ahead rock & roll.)
The Love We Make (If Eric Clapton covered this slow roller, people would be stunned.)
Wasted Kisses (Gloomy, hidden-gem rock.)
The Truth/Don’t Play Me (Angry acoustic rock)
Family Name (Too much talking, but heavier than steel.)
Fury [Saturday Night Live Version] (Keeps the garbage at bay, even from Stones’ fans.]
Lion of Judah (Weird, moody, challenging rock that explodes like a grenade.)

There are many others, but they stray even further from the “classic path”.

Prince is just too weird for labels.

If you’re one of those kids that tried to put the square block in the round hole when you were a toddler, you’ll likely be dumbfounded.

** Can't Edit. I've told you. **

I vote I Like it There.

A lot of Chaos and Disorder could be classed as rock. I love it!

OK,Those are all good ones you have (I almost forgot about "electric chair"), but how about these, too?

Let's Go Crazy
Endorphinemachine
Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad
Peach

Those are some of my favorite rock-sounding tracks he's done
