JUST MY POINT OF VIEW I know this topic has been talked about to death, but I just have to voice my opinion. let me find the write words.
How much of a dumb ass do you have to be to sue a venue that puts your music and your shows out to the masses of people who would otherwise be uninterested in his work. People who are true fans (like myself) are going to always support and buy his music for all times. But the casual fan who knows nothing about him have only have events like the superbowl, SNL performance and internet sites such as YOUTUBE to find out what all the hype is about prince. And if you miss them the internet is a way to see what they missed Having a chance to see his amazing performances creates an interest in people who are not fans. I thought the point was not always making a profit off your music but actually getting your music out to the ears of the public so you can keep the circulation going (hence the giving away of his CD in the newspaper in england) I have never seen someone who can recreat himself and his popularity and then at the climax of the popularity piss everyone off and has to reinvent himself again. You are a multi millionare chill and relax, play good music and leave what is well out of your control alone. Prince is like an old man collecting beautiful artwork and hiding it from the world so that only he can enjoy it. Free advertiing you goofball its priceless, if you want people to appreciate you. Your time can be better spent by performing for our troops, giving free concerts in New Orelans, or performing free concerts at college campuses starting with Virginia Tech. Getting your music to young people and being a genuinely good person is how you remaing everlasting.
