The vid with Prince,MJ and James Brown.. Which someone put a link up for yesterday(from youtube)is "no longer available due to copyright from Prince/universal" I know P can be a bit anal re his videos being put up on youtube BUT the video wasnt just with him,but also with MJ and JB.Surely MJ and JB would have to agree to having it taken down aswell, and not just P (am I making sense? Really sad,as I loved watching it

James Brown released a dvd called 'James Brown and his very special guest B.B. King' in 2004. B.B. King played the support act. This is the show above mentioned fragment hails from. It's from a 1983 show of JB. The appearance of Michael Jackson is still on the dvd, but Prince' appearance has been cut out. So Prince obviously does have something to say about the fragment, and apparently he doesn't seem too fond of it.
The thing is, the clip is simply amazing. Three musical icons on stage. Prince plays some great guitar, Jackson sings and dances his best James moves (he probably had been practicing before the show) and James loves the admiration he gets from two newborn stars.

I found it interesting that it was Michael Jackson who whispers into James' ear to let him know Prince is in the audience. Also, Michael was dead on in the audience surrounded by everyone... you just won't see that anymore. I don't blame Prince for pulling the video - it's embarrassing for him. He is obviously "on something"... As for Michael practicing that morning? Hell no, he's been doing that James Brown dance routine since he was 5! |
