It's funny how Prince among other people with similar religious convictions..

..still feel such a 'need' 4 things like increased wealth & bodyguards.
I mean the bodyguards themselves r probably in 'a better place 2 die'.
Just a thought.

that's silly, just because you're really religious doesn't mean you want to get hurt or should'nt fear for your life and safety!

True, and A pastor I know gave a sermon one time on a Sunday,
following the death of his small grandson, and he broke down
in tears at the alter, and ended his sermon with, Just because,
you are a man of the cloth or wear a cross, doesn't mean your
exempt from trials. sad

The wealth is one thing. But with the bodyguards he has no choice. As long as he is alive he will be a prisoner of fame. I guess that’s by his own design. Case in point Brad Pitt Attacked By Fan see link: http://industry-icon.com/blog/

Of course he needs bodyguards.
Even in the bible God says, "take care of yourself that I will take care of you"

Poor Brad. That woman is so overzealous that she doesn't even care that Brad is pulling away from her because she just invaded his personal space.

Look at that nut job that was onstage with Prince at the Koko, she was straddling him and looked determined to get what she wanted and she was a woman, many men are jealous of Prince and would seriously try to kill him. Remember back in the 80's some religious groups said that he was Satan and had to be destroyed. Thank God for his bodyguards nod

I remember in the mid 80’s there was a young lady who was in front of Princes’s house. She told one of my guards that God had sent her to kill Prince because he was the antichrist. But he doesn’t need bodyguard’s right wink

The nutty woman at the Koko reminds me of a pic in which Prince is standing at the edge of his piano and there's this woman climbing the piano and staring at Prince as if he was her prey. I bet that there have been many instances like these ones.
How could anyone think of Prince as satan? That's so screwed up.

That's why I wish he'd stop letting dancers onstage or at least put them in one section.

Every celeb is different, Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali and many fighters have bodyguards. Ali used to defy his because that was his nature, he loved people and didn't like being told what to do. One of my trainers told me how Marvin Hagler went to a bar in hawaii, the locals don't like blacks so they started trouble, his bodyguards kept him out of reach and handled the situation without Marvin even needing to do anything. Fighters can take care of themselves but they don't need that kind of ignorant trouble. In Prince's case, i think it's partly his antisocial nature and time constraints, he does not have time to talk or greet every fan who sees him. It's also common sense, I'm sure that the vast multitude of threats are hot air but you just never know and so he has bodyguards.

IMO I think it would be very difficult and dangerous being Prince and going to the Kingdom Hall or doing anything other JW's do without bodyguards.

It's not a "status" thing it's a safety thing.

Ur comments make perfect sense, and I agree 2 a certain extent.
Granted the bodyguards serve their purpose well, but seeing Prince walking in front of 2 lovely ladies holding their own umbrellas, and the bodyguard holding an umbrella 4 Prince... rolleyes C'mon.. I ask U..
Which of the 2 men appears more humble?
Thats some pretentious BS right there.

I see your point. It does look pretentious. But all those people, even the beautiful ladies, are on his payroll.
I wouldn't expect my boss to hold an umbrella for me.. even though that'd be nice lol

I met another Prince fan once who said he witnessed Prince being grabbed by a boy at an event. The boy just wanted a hug and was latching onto Prince firmly and Prince just gave him a very annoyed look. sad

Celebrity does have its bad points!

Yeah fine, but don't adopt a 'holier than thou' attitude as well..
It's far from meek and humble is all I'm sayin.

Why would the kid keep on latching onto Prince after Prince is not in the mood for a hug?
