the lead vocals on both 'Groove Eternal' and 'Dance To The Music' are by Lady Miss Kier (formerly of Deee-Lite)

"This is my last comment on this subject, it's clear that our friends dont' know Prince at all, I've been on Prince's fan list since I first heard him in 76'[...]" {snipped}

That's interesting since his first album didn't come out until 1978. flipped off

NO; not at all. From day 1 I've always thought
Prince copped a ton of his game straight off Bootsy.

His style of dress, expertise and preference in instrumentation, creation and production of music,
overt sexuality, experimentation with electronics
and Hendrixian fixation all stem from Bootsy.

The Boot-man has done it all before!

Bootsy was pre-Prince or
Prince is post-Bootsy!

If you are really hardcore funkateer, then
you know how intrinsic Bootsy was in the creation
and exploitation of PFUNK's glory years.

Can everyone shut the f*** up blubbering like brats arguing over what is essentially a f*** song that undoubtedly will never change the world, only your f*** blood-pressures. Get rational, hold hands and sing of love and peace. Stop wasting my time with pointless and petty posts...someone has to read them, and I'd prefer it that while skiving from my work, I enjoy constructive critique on the artistic intergrities of Prince and related artists. F*** Bootsy anyway. I've been waiting for him to drag his rusty star-bass over here since 4 or 5 years ago but instead he pimps his commercialised ass the way of Supernatural, Invincible, and Rave Un2'...

Thanks for listenining. smile

What I'm saying? That Rudedog is a well known individual with a long track record in the Prince webforums since the mid-90's and damnit if he says you're silly for claiming it MUST be Prince when it isn't even credited on the album sleeves... then well he does have a point. Far too often people are starting stupid rumours about this and that involvement and what we are left with? Fricking "69 Positions" every damn week on the thread list. Use your ears.

So all in all, summa summarum, what I'm saying is that sheer namecalling when you don't know who you are dealing with is just ...well, silly.

Anyway, don't get offended too much by this. I might be wrong.

I agree. You people are silly. At least admit it's a possibility. Prince dared to believe people would think his sped up voice was enough to convince people another person was singing (Camille). He slowed down his voice for Bob George. So what Bootsy refers to him as "Mamma", Princehas palyed a woman before can anyone say "VIBRATOR". He loves to switch and hide his idenitity. I could be him singing lead (I believe it is). But YOU KNOW it's his track. If anyone else had the talent to sound like one of the greatest artist of all time so completly, he or she would not be hiding out on a Bootsy track. Trust me.

Ummm, I slowed down both "Groove Eternal" and "Dance to the Music" to see if that sped up theory held any ground. When I did that it sounded like a slowed down WOMAN's voice, not Prince's. You do the same thing with the Camille voice or Bob George voice and you can hear Prince. Not the case here cause it's not him!

Try it out yourself and you'll hear with your own ears. It's not Prince. Plain and simple.

1) Vibrator was NEVER released.
2) The times where Prince "supposely" played a woman, he was never reffered to as either "a woman" or "mama".

Rudedog

1) Vibrator was NEVER released.

So he still played a woman. Please, tell me you think he was supposed to be a man.

2) The times where Prince "supposely" played a woman, he was never reffered to as either "a woman" or "mama".

Once again, So? Prince never breaks new ground or trys a different angle.

I don't think Prince has ever dressed like Casper, but if you have some pics to prove it, I'm POSITIVE I'm not the only one interested in seeing them. lol

And Prince is only as fixated on Hendrix as he is with Sly, James, George, and Miles...quite frankly, I don't think Bootsy is really "fixated" on Jimi. Influenced by him definitely; fixated sounds extreme to me.

Prince's sexuality was far more overt than Bootsy's. This may be, in large part, due to the times altering when Prince came on the scene. But 'Munchies for Your Love' is very different from 'Head' and 'Sister'.

Bootsy was pre-Prince or
Prince is post-Bootsy!

No doubt about that!!! George without Bootsy is like McCartney without Lennon.

In any case, there are a few things I'm sure of:

1) Prince does NOT appear on Bootsy's new album
2) 'Groove Eternal' is the BEST attempt to sound like Prince/Minneapolis I've ever heard from anyone
3) If Prince HAD released this, some of y'all "lost-my-faithers" would shout 'Hallelujah!!!"
4) P-Funkjazz has GREAT taste in funk!!!

PRINCE IS NOT ON BOOTSY'S PLAY WITH BOOTSY album!!!

I took the liberty of emailing Bootsy Collin's OFFICIAL website and asked if Prince was on PLAY WITH BOOTSY album.
Well, guess what? I, as well as Cecy, Joey Coco and many others on this thread were F*CKIN RIGHT! So FACE DOWN YALL M*THERF*CKERS who said it was Prince! The person on those two songs is INDEED NOT PRINCE and named ONE. This email from www.bootsycollins.com confirms it AND it posts a link to the picture of ONE. So FUCK ALL YALLS that tried to start another BULLSHIT RUMOR!!

Here is the email:

Rudedog -

Some fanatical Prince fans are spreading the rumor that "One" on Groove Eternal and Dance To The Music is Prince.

Webmaster of Bootsy Collins.com -

I will quash that rumor right now. No, Prince is NOT on the new cd. That
voice heard is in fact, One. One is a musician here in Cincinnati, that
just happens to sound a LOT like Prince.

For anyone in doubt, have them go here:

Now exacly why would that be? Prince and I don't compete and he clearly loves PFUNK as much as I do.
I have no desire to be a musician (but I'd jump at the chance to book a Prince show).

You think I envy his loot? I ain't rich, but
I do quite well on my own. I'm very happy.

Why would I be jealous of princefags?
Except for a few exceptions, their knowledge of
music is extremely limited. What's there to be jealous of?

You clearly have no point to make.
At least not a point that makes any sense.
