1. Who wants to bet that most of the individuals who make statements like "the Lovesexy tour is way better than One Nite Alone" actually only have seen Lovesexy on video and have actually only read the One nite Alone concert reports?

2. When will individuals realize that their negative reactions to Prince's changes/new directions has less to do with how different Prince is and more with how different the individual is? Meaning: Are you as open minded now as you used to be?

3. Why do certain "fans" want Prince to be "bold, adventurous, and daring like 1982-1988 etc." when they them selves are not willing to be?

Have you seen the Lovesexy tour yourself? Do you know what it was about? The whole thing had a theme and it was a pretty big production. Though, my best Prince experience was seeing him live a few different times about a year ago -- standing right in front of him even... but I still feel the Lovesexy tour was the best -- a personal favorite anyway.

I don't think either was better per say. Just different really. Okay, so it wasn't Lovesexy that I saw, but the Nude W. Tour.

I've only seen Prince 4 times now, and I can't say that I have a fave performance. Each one was just different. What I liked about One Night Alone was how tight the band was together, and how well rehearsed the music was. So what if it wasn't a "flashy" show? It was Prince live and Prince music presented in a way that I thought was really cool!

The Purple Rain tour was over the top and Lovesexy was hailed because it had been a while since we had seen Prince...he had Parade, ATWIAD and SOTT already under his belt.

1.) I saw Lovesexy live as well as own it on video. Not everyone has their head up Prince's ass and follows every musical whim of his. Those who aren't obsessed fans would probabbly appreciate Lovesexy more because he does a phenomenal job with his hits. That doesn't make them any less of a person. I thought ONA Tour was very very good as well, and it ranks as one of my favorites. The set list and the performances were very very tight. Its a great show for diehard fans, but honestly, people were sitting alot more than previous concerts. And the preachy (but not very insightful) moments such as Avalanche were painful to listen to.


2.) I'm more open minded now than I ever was. My musical interests continue to expand. No fan of his work is obligated to praise every piece he puts out. I honestly don't consider his latest work very daring. It's derivative jazz with very stifling, opinionated, and self-righteous point of views. It's a confusing step back in my opinion. Going from "Pablo Honey" to "The Bends" to "Kid A" is a bold and daring change. His music now sounds like bad rehashes of stuff he's been doing for years. TRC is basically Madhouse and New Power Soul with heavy JW influences.

3.) Whos to say any of his fans are not bold and daring? Do you know each and every one of us and what we do from day to day? In other words, if we don't blindly praise each and every thing he does we're stupid and dull? Sometimes the obsessed fanatics seem more like unoriginal gimps to me, especially when they have to wait for Prince's every move to come up with a 'stance' of 'their own'.
