Would love to buy the Black album... but I am "scured" that I will get a fake.

Then again... would it be that bad to get a good quality CDr with good copies of the art work etc?

That's funny, the first time I ordered that album, the version that arrived was the clean version. I was pissed. I still have it, too. In protest, I bought the gold packaged limited edition one, for cheaper too, funnily enough.

Anyway aside from Kamasutra, ONA, and some NPG stuff, I have Prince's entire discography. Found all of it on Amazon, too.

These days, unless you're in it for the collecting alone, I seriously wouldn't bother getting the CDs of these early releases. The sound quality is as bad the 80s Prince albums. And you get much better quality from buying the albums on vinyl and ripping them yourself. Comparing them side by the side, the difference is very much noticable.

BestBuy.com shows the Rainbow Children in stock, it was formerly backordered. But now it shows that it will leave the store in 1 buisness day. If you check store availability it says unavailable. But usually every Best Buy store has about two to three copies.

Of course quality really depends on the condition of your vinyl and the quality of your turntable. THese are collectibles to Prince collectors so copies serve the purpose of listening; not collecting.

for a while a few years ago in the renfield street fopp record store in glasgow, in front of the sales desk there was a huge one-metre-high, four-disc-wide pile of unsold emancipations with a big card saying "£3" above it. the first time i saw this huge £3 stack in the store i actually laughed out loud at it and the guy behind the counter looked at me like i was nuts.

The Black Album is hard to come by. Also, Exodus. Most stores here in Detroit don't carry that one off hand. You usually have to special request it. For You I noticed is hard to find as well. There are limited stock of Come and Rainbow Children but you can find them if you look hard enough.

1800 Girl CD. I have been able to replace some of the easier to find CD's but still don't have NPS and 1800 CD. Really sucks since my insurance company only covered for I thin 3 CD and I had a 6 CD changer full plus a wallet of 20 full. I lost a lot.

I hardly ever play originals in the car anymore. I burn them onto MP3. I can fit about 4 albums on one CD in MP 3 format, and my new car plays MP3.

Still looking for a few rare ones and would prefer to go to brick and motar place instead of the internet.
