yes, it's true ladies and germs, the purple one is indeed in prague. our fair city has been graced with his royal funkiness and people are following his instructions and gettin' crazy and goin' nuts. myself included. prince is in prague filming a video for the song 'somewhere here on earth' from his new album 'planet earth'. being of the same small stature, i have the privilege of being his stand in on set.

let me tell you it's not easy being prince. never do people stop to think that despite being prince and being funky, he's probably just a regular guy from mineappolis who get's tired (just like you), get's hungry(just like you) and i know it's hard to believe but has to go to the toilet sometimes(just like you).imagine that everywhere you go people assume that becuase they love you, you love them too and will stop whatever it is you're doing so that you can pose for endless photos and sign countless autographs regardless of the fact that you're hard at work. and god forbid you refuse! for if you do you will be labled everything from eccecntric to arrogant to downright rude!

despite being his stand in, i don't see prince very much. i've received a couple of smiles when we pass eachother on set but that's it. but you know, isn't that enough? anybody who's read an interview with me in the czech press knows how i value my privacy and intensely dislike being asked for my autograph when i'm at the pediatrician with my son or in a public toilet answering mother nature's call. i didn't want to bother prince in that way but desperately wanted to give him a gift to let him know what a fan i was. instead of bothering him i chose another route. i asked his bodyguards to deliver this gift to him. my offering was greeted with a very firm "absolutely not".

that's when i had the revealation. prince doesn't need a gift from me to feel better about who he is or to even make his day better. my gift to him was that instead of him, i ,stood for twenty to thirty minutes at a time in his place while the lights were prepared so that he didn't have to. so that he got to have a bit of time to himself before he had to stop being that normal guy from mineappolis and become the funky motha fucka once again.

and the moral of the story boys and girls: please stop text messaging and calling me to find out where we're shooting. thanks
