First song I ever heard was "I Wanna Be Your Lover" back in '79 on the radio (our soul station was KSOL here in SF). I asked my mom to buy that record, but I had no idea who Prince was. First time I saw Prince was on MTV in LRC and 1999 videos. Fond memories of my childhood.

I'm pretty sure it was "Soft and Wet"...I just don't remember it that well. It was a very minor hit in the SF Bay Area and got some radio play.

I definately remember "I wanna be your lover"...but I am sure I heard "Soft and Wet" first, it just didn't really impress me too much at the time.

Either Little Red Corvette, 1999, or Automatic.

But my first memory of noticing Prince was him singing "HEEAYYY!!" on Automatic.

Christoper Tracy's Parade. When i was 8 i used to listen to my brothers tapes and Parade was the first album of Prince i ever listend to. After rooting round his room for anything that had PRINCE written on it i found 1999 on tape and a Purple Rain Vynal which i was far too scared to put on cos i was afraid of scratching it. When i asked him if he would tape it for me he said "i doubt you will like it apart from the Purple Rain track". He was so wrong!
