I don't think a lot of people get it. People are callin Prince 'unfriendly to fans' but I don't see any real evidence of that. Fan s are fans but web sites are web sites and if you let some web sites have your material for free, it's a contradiction to charge others. Therefore, as the web continues to evolve, you have Prince on YouTube and Prince video forums on fan sites and then both of these things are pulled. Which is not an unfriendly act to fans but an evolving policy toward websites.

So while I'll be first to reproach Prince if he personally does something reprehensible toward a fan or fans, I don't have the same attitude when his representatives as a corporate body do something in respect of fans who are conjoined as a corporate body via a website.

All other talk is like a gang bang with Prince as the unwilling, undeserving object of the action.

LOL
Can I try?
In three words: "It Ain't Yours"
In four words: "It's mine, all mine!"

Ok, here's the problem with posting on any forum. After the first 5 of 6 posters, other people actually don't READ what the original poster said. If any of you actually READ what I wrote I never said I was LEAVING, or was going to stop listening to Prince.

I stated that if I put in all the hard work to support a huge site about him, and I was not breaking any laws, I personally would not put up with the crap that these sites do. I congratulate Prince.org, and Housequake.com for their undying patience and resiliency. I just would not simply put up with it.

Let's be real here. I have an opinion, and I stated it. I don't blindly agree with everything he does. Especially when it comes to him attacking third party websites (mainly Housequake.com) when they are not breaking any international copy-write laws. It's strong-arming and it is wrong.

No one here has to agree with me, but do not change the facts to make it more convenient for you to say some half-witted comment that has nothing to do with the original post.

I will always listen to Prince, purchase his music (unless it sounds like Planet Earth), and go to his concerts.

I am not attacking the Artist known as Prince, but the business known as Prince.

You don't have to defend yourself, honey! Some people here do understand where you're coming from. Some people here dare to criticize and still continue to be Prince fans.
We criticize our kids and spouses at times; that doesn't mean we don't love them and give up on them.
Some people here however treat Prince like a hero, or Nobel-Prize winner who saves mankind with his music.
I clearly draw a line when it comes to idolizing people, because for me and my house, we serve the Lord ( and not Prince)!
wink

ok.. let's stick to the subject here .. this thread is about somebody who felt the need for attention to tell the world.. they are no longer a Prince fan. I love Prince, but i do not agree with all Prince does and technically it's none of my business what Prince does.. but that's NOT the subject here.. a person who really does not want to be a Prince fan will cancel their account, move on, good-bye and that's it.. this person had a NEED to tell the world their gripes and complaints for whatever their reasons were.. ok he can leave and 4 more Prince fans will be created in his place... so what, who cares.. ppl need to stay on topic of the subject here.. cause Prince fans worshipping Prince had nothing to do with this thread...hey, if you dont like Prince.. then move on.. gracious.. rolleyes

I don't think he understands that's what he's doing though. His loss.

It is difficult to understand your view, you seem to miss the point which is that Prince has a right to "own" his property and protect it from the "Pirates" like You Tube and other sites; which undoubtedly secure advertising $$ revenue off of their sites, but most likely don't share their $$ with Prince or any other artist. This my dear is called leaching.

It seems to me that Prince is simply trying to cut-out the middle man (or at the very least, get the respect due him). This has nothing to do with fans. The fans are unfortunately caught in the cross-hairs. no no no! Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Simply put, would you like a stranger to come into your house and set up their stuff in your bedroom and act as though you're not there--invite friends over, have parties, leave dirty dishes all around, etc.--I highly doubt it. sigh

Hard to say but true....however, prince at first,I think, wrote about himself, now it seems, he writes about what he sees, in the world, life etc.

that picture is so f-cked up, anybody would keep a distance. idk.....
