as requested on the Sign O the Times concert ticket "wear peach or black", I decide to buy a PEACH outfit. Of course he cancelled the concert with no make-up date. I never wore that peach thing ...

...and Ive used the Lake Minnetonka line more than 1ce, which is silly since it's 1,000's of miles away.

My silliness is almost entirely fashion related.

I have a spare room, which is really small, and had a few Prince things here and there...but over the weekend I went all out and bought new frames for 2 posters I have, hung more pictures of the man, put 3121 perfume on display, bought a sheet for the futon that's in the room, which is purple and pink and sort of a paisley design. I already had my symbol tambourine on the wall, purple rug, purple pillow (I really want that Prince pillowcase, lol) and a few other things. After I was done I had to laugh and thought wow, if anyone comes over and sees this they are going to REALLY think I'm outta my mind.

Well, a bunch of people did come over and see it last night. I had this burning rubber smell in the upstairs of my house and had no idea what it was. I finally decided I better call the fire department and have someone take a look. So there they were, about 15-20 firemen roaming around in my newly decorated Prince room. Never did find what the smell was, but I sure got to show off my Princely stuff. I'm sure at least some of them thought I was pretty silly

There are a few silly, Prince inspired things, I've done and continue to do.
1. spending a lot of precious time on the org, while I could be doing something more beneficial.
2. spending way too much money on his CD's (especially the unreleased material ),DVDs, books, etc.
3. getting a symbol tattoo.
4. feeling the need to defend him when someone declares that Prince is gay.
5. having nothing but love for Prince, even though he does countless things that urk me. To name a few, like pulling almost everything Prince related off e-bay, you-tube, and HQ, suing his fans, being too preachy and too cocky at times. It'd be nice, if he acknowledged the people that helped him along the way and the fans that made him what he is today.

sewed sequins on my "members only" jacket in jr high.

I painted my bedroom peach and black in 1987. That black paint was a bugger to cover up!

The last time I got into a taxi cab,
I noticed that the driver was a female.
So, taking a note from Prince, I began hitting on her by asking, in my best purple tone, "Lady Cab Driver,
can't U take for a ride?"
Eventually,
when she realized what I was really trying to do,
she became quite offended,
and began reigning blows down upon me with her turban.
And she musta understood to what reference I was referring to
b'cuz with every smack,
the bitch would quote one of the song's lyrics.

"This is 4 discrimination & egotists who think supreme
& this is 4 whoever taught U how 2 kiss in designer jeans
....infidel!!"

bought some artists albums, just because Prince digs them (i.e. Goapele )

and refusing to leave a store/ get out the car until a Prince song playing goes off

Not really silly, but actually I'm proud of it: I almost lost my job, when I needed a day off work to see a concert of Prince in London (gold tour), my boss wouldn't let me. On that day I called in sick and got a final warning in writing.

Well, I kept my job and my boss was fired a few months later because of mismanagement...
