Stevie Wonder & Prince Collaboration, Again! Last night Stevie Wonder performed just outside of the Bay Area in California (near San Francisco). Stevie was incredible! He sang Vision and the first line of the song was modified to include the first line of Prince's Planet Earth...."Imagine Holding Planet Earth in the Palm of Ur Hand" it was beyond excellent! Wouldn't a Prince & Stevie concert be the concert of the millenium?

Hell Yeah! That would be the concert of my dreams. I'll definitely go see it. Check me out and add me on:

One of my dreams 2. I'd even camp outside to be first in line to get a ticket! The two also performed together recently at the B.E.T. Music Awards (2006). India Arie sang and it was perfect.

Oh yeah! That would be great! As a matter of fact, the perfect place to do that in is in Detroit. Stevie is coming home to throw down in a few weeks. Prince...you should join him!!

I don't know... I blame Femi Jiya for some of the stale feel on "A Time For Love".

"Can you picture mother earth in the palm of your hand?" is a lyric from Can't Imagine Love Without You off A Time 2 Love, which was released in 2005.
So, Prince actually lifted Stevie's words.

So, Prince actually lifted Stevie's words. Wow! I never noticed that and that was truly one of my favorite songs from 2005. Check me out and add me on:

First off, the name of this thread is misleading. I wouldn't have bothered clicking on it if it were titled properly. But since I did...

As regards the title of this thread...I don't think its misleading at all, Prince collaborated with Stevie on a track (What the Fuss) on the new CD A Time 2 Love. WTF is that first sentence about? *in best Jules Winston voice* "ENGLISH, MUTHAFUCKA!!! DO YOU SPEAK IT?!?" And IN regard to your second statement, Prince did not, by the definition you provided, collaborate with Stevie. again. Was he at said concert? (sorry ya'll, I've been drinking)

You had me thinking something was in the works! Dag!
Anyway, another Stevie-Prince collaboration would be fabuloso, of course. And, yeah, that "Earth in the palm of your hands'' line did sound familiar when it popped up on 3121.com and I realized Stevie had a similar opening line years ago with "I Can't Imagine Love Without You.'' Anybody remember Steve's solo piano version on that special years before the CD came out? I think it was a BET Tribute to somebody show. Amazing performance. Imagine those two on pianos collaborating. (Chills). lol

i was in amazement watching them perform together on that show. in the beginning Stevie seemed kinda shut-down, like he thought of himself as a background playa. but P graciously roused Stevie mid-way thru and got him into it. it was a wonderful moment. interestingly, it was later edited out, i believe. cause i saw it LIVE & then repeated and they were different. nevertheless, i really enjoyed seeing that performance. it would have been better if they could have really "gotten down" together.

that song is on his 2005 album "A time to Love" Prince plays guitar on his single "So What the Fuss" too on the cd. I noticed that too. when I heard Planet Earth cd. If you buy stevie's album the song starts off that way too on the song #13 "Cant Imagine Love without you" Im seeing him in concert too tomorrow thursday 08/30/07 at a winery McMennimens pub mansion here near where I live in troutdale, oregon. It sold out within hour or so. I cant wait. Dont think hes been up to the NW since 80's maybe. Gonna give him a card thanking him for standing up for michael during the Eminem Spew! ect. Stevie seems to like hands. I heard a radio interview where Prince said that when he was talking with Stevie at a practice session (If I recall it was for that 'What the Fuss' song), Stevie grabbed Prince's hand and held it for a while. Prince said something to the effect that he was caught off guard since he knew two grown men were holding hands (and I'm going to assume a little uncomfortable).

Wasn't there an aftershow sometime in the past 5 years after an awards ceremony at which Stevie played drums while Prince led the band on guitar?

I really like the tribute concert for and with Chaka Khan, especially when Chaka sang 'I feel 4 U' with Prince on guitar, so his song, and Stevie Wonder on harmonica (original player on Chakas version).
Great was also, when Prince leaned on Stevie while they were playing. (sorry again for my bad germish..)

I know I saw them play after the VH1 Honors in LA in 94.' They played "Maybe Your Baby," one of my all time concert highlights. Prince on guitar & Stevie on vocals. The highlight was seeing prince w/ gold symbol guitar spilled on the floor playing & grinning from ear to ear because he was playing with his idol. An amazing moment i was fortunate to be front & center for.
