Was watching an interview around that time and some concert footage and wow - he just seemed like a different person. So happy, goofy, over-the-top.

Why not? He was 25 years old and didn't have half the problems that eventually came into his life later on. That is my favorite era, I think he looked best then too.

he was 25 in 1983 so he was 28 at 1986 but that dont matter.

well he had everything an was all fresh .. just after the purple rain thing which was still going on an he managed to put out a CD which was completely different an kinda low key .but cos of the purple rain boom loads of people would hear it AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAY .. he was just on a huge high an everything was success .. an he believed he was gonna be a big MOVIE STAR an was doing his second acting film ect ..he was also a sex symbol an all the chicks were inlust with him .an everyone male an female was inlove with his music an appreciating his tallent.. he had got the fame he had dreamed of an the world was his ... he was happy an positive an had seemed to be alot more humourous in a quick witted an spontanious way an was alot more energetic an cocky ... I feel he definetly changed his way of been shortly after this period an became alot more reserved an incontrol of himself .. maybe he looked back an got embaressed .. maybe he just began to take alot of criticisium an general media bullying to heart an made him get mad an then calm down an plan things an be more private ... i think he is well cooler now .. i think this period maybe he was a little too crazy/energetic .. Grafiti Bridge period maybe he was a little too reserved an didnt seem to reveal much personality ... i think most of the time since he has got the right ballance .. CHRIS ROCK interview is cool .. there is alot of other interviews where he seems just extremely laid back an lacking any energy or excitability/sign of life lol ..... both styles work pretty cool an both hard to believe its the same guy .. i guess he is just a typical gemini an got a split personality .. an mood dependant on which prince is gonna show up ..eitherway the guys got a good sence of humour an can handle situations in a good way ,, serious or with humour

I'd be happy as hell too if was one of the biggest performers in the world at that time. Prince was untouchable at that time. And when SOTT came out Prince became even more of a musical icon.

He did look VERY happy at that moment in his life.
He was young and so carefree!
Its so hard to think he's almost 50 ya'll.

I wish I was this age when he was making purple rain and stuff...lolz.

I was just watching his premiere concert for the Movie, he was so full of energy and couldn't stop smiling,I never see him smile like that anymore
