are we normal? I really REALLY love Prince. In all ways! I totally adore late-70s Prince, up till mid-90s P Control/... and up till current "Planet Earth"excellenece. As silly as it may sound, I love all his periods to the max and with equal passion. In my opinion, he's completely perfect. So I'm asking you, fellow-fans, which period (album) do you love most? If I was to select one, I'd either choose PARADE or 1999. But, me being me, I can't do that. I love Prince too much. He owns all sounds and decades - so it's up to him to put them together in the right way!! ..... that's my personal view!
Basically, have an excellent weekend!! Lots of love... always!! -- Pluto [Edited 8/31/07 15:00pm] I've got some honey and some peppermint tea - that's all I need to get my drink on!

You're right. I'm not actually a planet. Did I even say I was a planet? If so, I apologize profusely..... Excellent!! I've got some honey and some peppermint tea - that's all I need to get my drink on!

I also question my passion for him. You are not the only one caught hook line and sinker with this man. I actually wish I was a little less passionate because some of my friends think it is a little weird! But it is not just the music, it is his unmatched striking beauty. I hear ya, orger.

I love him always, but i especially love Lovesexy Prince, and Purple Rain Prince, and... Hell, i love (really LOVE) every Prince. And no, we're not normal, but normal people are boring. And if loving Prince is not "normal", then why would anyone want to be. "The truth is that we don't even know what the world will be like until we shake things up a little bit"

that's really good to hear, ginahrush! haha it's insane how "taken by" him I am! In a world that's in the condition it is today, There seems to be nothing normal about being nice to people, and truly loving them based on every-reason that they are. Prince has a loving heart, and one day it will feel more normal to want to be around someone like Prince is. Love technically, is: a phrase, that attempts to let everyone through the gates of your heart. I believe Prince genuinely loves the world. He merely can't go around the world physically shaking hands with them. It would be hard to make anymore great music if really doing that. I guess love in the airwaves, is the best way to show it these days. [Edited 8/31/07 17:40pm] "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Who's to say what's normal, loving Prince is as normal as breathing to me. I've never lived in this world without him, can't imagine how it would be. That's all I need to say.

Well said. He is such a large part of my everyday life, i can't imagine life without him, and don't want to even contemplate it. He has influenced me in so many ways, and he and his music genuinely make me happier than almost anything else in my life. Let's take a stab at this one...Normal?-- it's all relative, i.e., if you're in an insane asylum and you ask if you're normal, chances are you're normal--like everyone else in there.
There are people, we all know them, they belong to clubs like the corvette club or the Elks, they spend inordinate amounts of time polishing their cars, or wearing funny hats, are they "normal?" Everyday people sit in their cubicles, hiding, waiting for 5:00 p.m. to arrive--they don't do much and then they go home and sit in front of the television--they give nothing to anyone, work or home-- are they "normal?" We (Orgers) have something in common. We share an appreciation for one of God's exceptional creations, Prince. Like Michael Jordan's fans, we appreciate the sheer elegance of this masterfully designed being. I'm sure Prince has faults, like everyone, but if you look at the entire package, you cannot deny that he is truly an anomaly. It's no so much that he's a genius musician, there are/have been other(s); however, his career has spanned 30 years--and he's not done yet. Furthermore, at first glance, the average person would have probably counted him out--he's of African descent, he's physically small in stature, he didn't necessarily grow up in a "silver spoon" family environment, etc. Yet, he's shown to be a shrewd businessman, he can have any woman (man) that he would want, he's obviously extremely intelligent and hard working, he's uber-sexy and he's spiritual. We’re in awe of Prince—much like seeing a shooting star on a cool, dark, autumn night. Our collective decision to share our thoughts about this “freak of nature” simply means that we concur with the acknowledgement of one of the creator’s finest and rare gems. Consider it intellectual and stimulation and because he’s so unique. To love Prince is not abnormal. The fact that we appreciate and share our thoughts about his uniqueness means we recognize the splendor of the creator’s power. That in itself is praise to the almighty. That’s why we can’t get enough. “If it feels this good getting’ used….”

Hey Pluto, Here is what I mean by sometimes my friends think my passion for Prince is "a little weird" This last comment here is the type of thing I was referring to...How a lot of people take our fondness for him as us not being normal. I can understand them, I am not going to say thay I am "obsessed" to the point that I could not live without him. I just see him as one of the finest works of art that the "higher being" has created, Yes, he is only a man who has musical talent, but i will be honest, He is one of the few things that brighten my day. And if I know I am going to see him live (like in London on the 20th) my heart nearly stops. Before he came on in Vegas, it was the same feeling. I mentioned how I wish I had a little less passion for him because, it is hard to admit, but when he doesnt do a lot of touring or anything, I kinda have a "withdrawal!" That is why I responded to you because I can relate with the "are we normal" post. My husband has even told me to stop talking about it at work (because I work in the medical field) because he said that other doctors may think I have some kind of obsessive compulsive disorder! Sorry to ramble, but I truly empathize with your feelings. I do wish I had passion for other things in my life like I do for Prince. It would be more mature, I guess by the worldly standards

I can agree with most of you on here.I am a Prince addict. It may not be normal in some people's eyes ,but it does no harm.I too could'nt imagine a world without him. I would'nt jump out the window if he were no longer around, but it just would'nt be the same.It does'nt matter what anyone else think as long as I'm happy. Don't get me wrong there are other things in life that make me happy, but anything Prince related just adds to it. I can just hear his name and get excited.I thank God for him.If I did'nt have a role model like him I probably would'nt be able to deal with the fact that I'm a little different from what is considered normal. Besides normal is just too boring.I am happy that I see alot of people feel the way I do.I can talk about Prince for hours without getting bored. I am so glad I have a place I can come to do it.
