Just watched the First Ave 1983 performance of this song (when it was recorded). Just floors me every time. His vocal line is killer - it sounds like a thousand people singing and those, what i asume were adlibed screams - "honey i know, i know times are changing", man... All on the cusp of becoming the biggest star on the planet. Love the part where he is about to start singing but moves away from the mic. Wonder what is would have sounded like if he had started then? this has probably been discussed a billion times already. This is one of THE truly amzing documents in princes career, though.

That whole entire concert is amazing. I was completly blown away when I first seen it. First Ave 1983 equals Prince at his best, no dout.

It was great, he was born to perform.
