The "New" version of Empty Room

I wasn't at the Celebration so I don't know what the version of Empty Room sounded like, but I was at London.

Was it just me or did it sound like an updated, possibly "new" version since 95?

Are we going to see this released? I think so, and possibly as a lead single.

The version was very polished, and because it was a lot heavier, it had more of a "Single" feel.

Its also strange that he is choosing a current unreleased song as an encore, where three quarters of the audience were not even NPGMC members.

For those of you who were not there...

The song started with a single drum beat and keyboard line, with lasted a lot longer than the old versions.

It was almost identical to the beginning of the alternative version of Nothing Compares 2 U, with was given away on St Pauls site. But strangely, I knew it was Empty Room before he started singing, so the chord was in there somewhere.

The verses were as 95 but the guitar "chorus" was much deeper, almost bass like, via purple Habibi. The final guitar chorus went much higher, like The original.

Very haunting. I think its building up to a release!

Now don't get me started on the fantastic reworking of Gotta Broken Heart Again...

well... it was live. i'm not sure how you determine that it's been updated. sounded pretty close to the 95 version to me, only... well... live. he changes up a lot of his songs when he does them live.
