The Cult of Prince Gawd, when I come here and read the posts, it is like total deja vu. I have gone through so many artists, in my life. I was totally infatuated with David Bowie, Gary Numan and Rozz Williams for the last few years. I bought every one of their CDs, even the horrible ones that I knew were BAD. I SUFFERED when they SUFFERED. I desperately tried to like music I really didnt like! I got 2 the point where I couldn't even listen to the old albums anymore because I was simply so digusted with the artists...
I am not here to bitch, I just want to say, if you don't like what Prince is doing right now DON'T BUY IT, and I mean don't even listen to it! Ignore him! Don't let Prince or anyone else take advantage of you, there is so much good music out there . It is the fact that we put up with our favorite artists' bullshit that they can keep dealing it. Tell PRINCE what we think about his lawsuits and his NPG and everything since Diamonds and Pearls or for that matter since ATWIAD. DOES ANYONE HERE REALLY LIKE PUSSY CONTROL? DOES ANYONE HERE REALLY LIKE GETT OFF? Does anyone here really take Jehova's Witnesses seriously? No offense, but if Prince came up to your door and offered you a bible, would you take it? OK, enough BABBLING. It is late and this is keeping me from studying. But still, I don't want to get off on the wrong foot. So here it goes: SHE LOVES ME 4 ME ( I got it off Kazaa though heh ) is a pretty good song. OK, that is my retribution. Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. Are you Insane? Of course I like Pussy Control and Gett Off and yes of course if Prince offered me a bible I would accept it. And yes I am looking into the Jehovah Whitnesses nor do I or would I ever condemn them or any religion. Am I his fan . Of course I am and I will continue to enjoy his music why cause he's wonderful and as far as seeing him live well no one is better than he is . He is Amazing and always yes always do you enjoy yourself. | |

I'd have to say that since Prince rarely, if ever, gets any air play on pop radio or any radio anymore that most of us fans who still do listen to him do genuinely love his music, including "Pussy Control" and "Gett Off".   Proud member of Prince's cult for 20 years! | |

Good point. I love Pussy Control and Gett off is a classic! I think what Watchthemfall was saying is that people get a little carried away with the whole hero worship thing and get to the point where their idol can do no wrong. There are a lot of Prince songs that I will openly say I don't like...ummm, okay none spring to mind at the moment...Anyways - I don't really see many people on here going crazy and considering a change of religion ( because of Prince so that's cool. But realistically, if you don't want to read fanspeak..don't come to a fan website. | |

Yes, I like Gett Off. There are people who don't? Really? Have they heard the Damn Near 10 Minute Mix? Or Violet the Organ Grinder? Seriously? Yes, I take Jehova's Witnesses seriously, like I take anybody seriously if they come to me to have a sincere discussion about what they think. Yes, if Prince came up to me and gave me a Bible, I would take it, and thank him for trying to do something positive for me; I think his religious beliefs are desperately misguided, but I'm not going to be rude to him because of it. I put up with his bullshit (and sometimes it really is just absolutely annoying/infuriating) because I continue to find worthwhile artistic experiences contained in his current work, and am willing to put up with his eccentricities for the pleasure I get from that work. ARGG! I am just as much a fan as any of you people. Just because I don't stuff 100 dollars in Prince's undies does not mean 'I should leave'. I appreciate it when Prince says 'Do you get high, does your daddy cry' in Controversy as much as any of you people. So don't go ahead and start doubting my fanship because I will wholeheartedly defend it. Personally .
