Was he ACTUALLY quoted sayin' that?

Have you been living under a rock for the last ten years ? It's common knowledge that Prince stopped using swear words when he became a jw. He even changes lyrics to a lot of his songs when he plays them live.

...I just saw, for the first time, that performance of The Christ...the one with the stauros commentary at the beginning... disbelief

I doubt it will ever be re-released, but not for the JW reason.

Remember, this is a Warner album (despite his best efforts to detatch himself from them, precisely because of this CD). In the past few years (since the JW conversion) warner have re-released the hits and B sides which contains sexy MF amongst other non-JW approved lyrics.

I reckon Warner ultimately have the decision on this, and they'll not reprint it for purely commercial reasons (in my opinion).

Could be wrong though ... hope so.

Actually, he owns the master tapes for The Gold Experience. It was a joint venture with Warner & NPG records. At the time, it was not apart of his 6 album deal- more of a bargining tool/peace offering. They thought he would be happy for a minute. I guess it didn't work. lol

If I'm not mistaken- any one feel free to correct me- his album deal was fulfilled with: "0(+>,", "Come," "The Black Album," "Girl 6,""Chaos & Disorder,""The Vault" and "The Very Best of Prince". The last two albums were released upon Warner's time table, thus they came out when the company wanted.

The Gold Experience is his best album from the 90's!!!
Diamonds and Pearls and The Symbol Album are a close 2nd and 3rd IMO.
I pity anybody who didn't get a chance to pick up a copy when it came out in the fall of 95.

Any "fans" who say that Prince's last great album was Lovesexy are WRONG!. The Gold Experience is INCREDIBLE!

Man you guys are so down on JW's. Stick a 'e' in the middle of that and you'd not only get kicked but you'd get arrested.

And that sez what?

As far as I know 'em, they come to the door and knock once. If I don't answer, they go away. If I do answer, they try to give me a magazine. If I say 'No', they're cool and go away. If I invite 'em in, they listen.

I wish all the serial killers in my area were like them.

And soze I don't git off-topic, TGE is great and pretty easy to find in the second-hand stores. I got mine for £3 on the way to the O2 17th August and have been playing it every couple of days since. Of course, back in the day, I'd decided Prince had lost it and just went off him for like decades (well until 'Emancipation' came out).

Kids...don't make the same mistake I made. Love your Prince today.
He may be gone tomorra

God I hope so!!! That would be great news! I LOVE The Gold Experience! Wouldn't it be great if WB re-released all the maxi sinles, b-sides and remix ep's from the 90's that would be a dream come true for Prince collectors! I doubt any of that stuff will ever come back in print, not if they haven't done it by now... Knowing Warner Bros, and the way they treated Prince's career, they'll fuck it up and not release it because it's not "hip" or sellable in 2007. Fuck that! I'm gonna party like it's 1995 again! Pussy Control was the joint back in the summer of 95 before he went Jehova and self rightous...

A list of Prince CD's thatI'm pretty sure are out of print:
The Black Album-recorded in 1987 released in 1994
The Beautiful Experience EP- 1994 released as a promo item for TGE
The Gold Experience-1995
Chaos and Disorder-1996
Emancipation-1996
Crystal Ball-1998 w/ The Truth-1997
New Power Soul-1998
Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic-1999
The Rainbow Children-2001
Why are all of his late 90's albums out of print? does anyone know the reason for this...That PISSES me off!! I'm frustrated!

I dunno 4 a fact who owns TGE but the CD marks "(p) Warner Bros. records" on its booklet, so unless it's a printing mistake, the masters r owned by WB.

Hi guys

I am new year. I have been visitng for the past couple of years tho. I love this album. I managed to get it on ebay last year after patiently searching!

I'm from the UK and have been lucky enough to have gone to 3 of the Earth Tour concerts. My final one was on 12th Sept. They have all been amazing! Sorry to have gone off topic.

There are still copies of GE on ebay.

Charity shops are usually a good place to start looking for a second hand copy - I actually saw a copy of it in one the other week.

I dunno what it is though but I still prefer listening to the 12" copy of 'The Most Beautiful Girl in the world.' The same goes for 'Diamonds and pearls' - I guess I just prefer the warmer vinyl sound.

As for whether GE will ever be back in print, I imagine one day it will but probably when we're all long gone.

Vinyl beats cd 100-0.
Vinyl is the far superior format.

I completely agree, but be careful saying such things here. Last time I did, Ignorant youngins made lacklustre attempts to prove me wrong....Hmmmph!!!
