It's funny that when people mention how short Prince is, a lot of people are like "Well he's still....talented/beautiful/larger than life, etc."

Nobody said he wasn't all of those things.Nobody is here looking down on Prince (no pun intended) because of his stature. The person who began this thread just asked if we were honestly suprised, not digusted by his height. We all still love him.

Last time I checked, this was a chat forum, people can bring up anything they want. Regardless of whether you think it's dumb or not. If you don't like it, don't post. I skip over posts I think are dumb all the time.

ThankQ, U explained that beautifully.
I met Brian May 2day at the unveiling of Nelson Mandela's statue in Parliament Square, London. Later a group of us kept talkin' about how tall he was..so what, just an observation.

I honestly think that the people being defensive in this thread r both over-reacting and missin the point which is that P is in the public eye and we will notice stuff about him (especially those who see him 4 the 1st time).

I also commented on how light Prince's eyes R 2 ppl...so U gonna say I shouldn't talk about his batting eyes either rolleyes

I always knew he was short and stuff but I admit when I was next to him in LA I thought to myself DAMN he is a tiny, tiny man. I really didn't expect him to be that small. I mean you hear it all the time, but I guess it didn't actually hit me until I was close to him.

According to a cover story in USA TODAY Wednesday July 18, 2007

Height equals power!

Being taller, louder, dominate, is a step up the ladder.

An Organizational behavior professor a the Stanford University Graduate School of Business said that taller people look down or directly with others, they use an open stance and vigorous gesters, speak loudly in a deep voice, interrupt at will, and lean in close or otherwise reduce the space of others and expand their own. What does that give them? Others see them as smarter, more competent and deserving of all their promotions. Several studies indicate that taller men are more likely to be successful and the advantage begins earlier. The last U.S. president who was shorter thatn the average man was 5'7" William McKinley 106 years ago.

And blah blah blah blahblah

and so on and so forth

so basically, he stays on stage with heels to make himself seem to be taller b/c he's a tiny individual with a commanding voice so he can get away with it...
Um... let me warm up my vocals

As far as I care, he can loose the heels and look even smaller. I think he will loose another inch or so in the future, because older people shrink.
My plan is, to wait until he's small enough to fit in my purse. I will steal him and keep him forever in my life for my private joy. biggrin

When you meet Brian May were you not more impressed by his height???? When you talk about someone who is tall it's more of a positive comment. Where as saying some one is short is a negative. The person who started this thread thought that even now after all the years still thinks of Prince's height as being "Weird". Just the other day I read an article calling Prince the "pint" size pop star. What is positive about that??? Don't remember any negative article about Brian Mays height.

ill tell you though i was very shocked by steven tyler and joe perrys height,
im about 5"8 and always thought tyler was at leas 6foot and that joe perry was a fair bit taller than him, but nope! tyler is a good inch smaller than me and joe perry is even smaller than him!!!

I heard that whenever he ate Kim Basinger out,
he didn't even have to kneel (but that may be stereotyping).

Tom Cruise and Sylvester Stallone are perceived as tall.....they aren't.
From someone who's 4'10" he looks perfect.
When I've watched him perform, he's playing his guitar, I'm watching his amazing talent, and height never occurred to me.

Short people don't tip over as easily

I never really noticed how short he was. The first concert I saw him at, I was 3 to 6 feet away from him the whole night, and his height never registered. I just saw a man on stage doing what he loves to do. It's funny because before seeing him live, I had this vision of a superstar, but after watching him live, I just saw him as a man living out his dream. However, he always does seem larger than life to me. His presence (imo) overshadows his physical height, so that he doesn't appear to be smaller than most men, but larger because of his aura.

I don't think there'd be much of a problem if I ever got that close to P considering we're about the same height. I'd feel better because all of my guy friends and a lot of my girlfriends are taller than I am.
