He did it on the ONA tour -- which was after his conversion. I think he's just singing other stuff this time around.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I don't think self expression conflicts with any religion, but I like to put the star of David on my Christmas tree.

He changed the lyric "Save me, Jesus" to "Save me, Father". Other than that, everything else remained the same.

Post-JW conversion, the pronounciation of Anna's name in performances has been changed from a homonym of anaesthesia to an enunciation of Anna STAY-zhah, possibly due to the belief that talking about being under the influence of drugs is a sin.

What does JW teach? What is the differance between Christian and JW? I know it is in reguarding to Jesus....

In Vegas he was talking about not celebating b-days and how he doesn't celebrate Jesus' b-day but his death and what he did for us.

Anna Stesia: "Save me Jesus... u r my God, I am ur child..."
Holy River: "If u ask God 2 love u longer... making u happy 2 say His name: Jesus"
A Man Called Jesus: "My God is Love, Jesus"

Prince has a few songs where he refers to Jesus as God
Many Christians believe the same (plus, I'd argue for it being biblical)
But JW's have a much different view on Jesus
Because of this, Prince has since changed these lyrics

Not as much as the lyrics to Sister.

Maybe that's why it's been a while since anyone's heard him sing it.

funny, i never heard it that way until a few years ago when someone said so
i always heard it as anna stay-sia
i never got why some compare it to "anaesthesia"
i don't get that connection at all
"annastacia" means "rebirth" -- anaesthesia means what??? doesn't make sense

Anaesthesia makes you numb, it feels like you're floating or in a sort of stupor. In other words, it's a "doped up" feeling. Or at least that's the feeling it's given me whenever I've been put under before surgery... Comparable to "X", perhaps? I wouldn't know, as I've never experimented with drugs, but I can guess it is. I may be wrong, though.

Good Point on the Lyric References.

**** DUMB QUESTION/CONFUSSION....
Is PRINCE a JW? I have heard so many thing mentioned on this matter but where has it been "officially" stated by him or representative for him that he "converted" from Christianiy" to JW?

ALL of his songs that are "Christian" based are in fact refering to the "Biblical/Christian" GOD and JESUS.

Even though it has been refered to as a JW based album, I still don't see it in the "Rainbow Children".

"...In the Name of the Father, In the Name of the Son..." ( Last December )

"...Accurate knowledge of Christ and the Father Will bring the Everlasting Now...From this day forward 'til times indefinite, those who love Christ r the
ones who benefit..." ( The Everlasting Now )

"...4 everlasting, everlasting life/4 the one who sits on the right
4 Him we're willing to do the work..." ( The Digital Garden )

"...There's a place I want 2 go, Where the milk and honey flow, Without God it wasn't there, Now I feel it Everywhere...We were always meant 2 b In paradise eternally, B4 the truth I did not care, Now I feel it Everywhere..." ( Everywhere )

"...Didn't that happen in the Garden When somebody spoke 2 Eve? But I'm willing 2 do The Work...we're living in a system that the devil designed And suffering from this devil's most heinous crime, He's tried 2 keep us from the reason we were born That is 2 b the living truth in human 4m..." ( The Work )

These are some lyric examples that, to me, are based upon Christian/Biblical beliefs and not of JW teachings.

I appreciate a clarity if anyone has it.
