MADHOUSE 8! The drumming is delicious!
Unlike 16 which beats the main theme and melody to death over and over, the compositions on 8 are more spontaneous, and evolve with solos highs and lows along the way, Check out how "one" goes all over the place. The production is also much better, nowhere do find the garish and gaudy elements that plagued most of Prince's output from 87 on. (example of the telephone recordings on "5" are fresh and sound spontaneous and funny,.....as oposed to the licking and sucking on "Come" which is gaudy) The drumming is so much fun to listen to, the guitar work and piano so is crisp and sharp and works perfectly with Eric Leeds sax and flute playing, I have yet to get tired of this. Listen to "8" and "16" back to back and the difference is like night and day [Edited 8/25/07 19:47pm]

Highlights for me so far his drumming and keys on 7 - mindblowing - great track. Also love 8, one of my all-time favorite mellow Prince tracks - so hypnotic and very relaxing. Im gonna slowly (dial-up) torrent 16 over the next few weeks or so to see what that's like. And the 2 unreleased Madouse 24's if i can get them too.
