I dont think he is bragging, he was just fooling around- so many hits so little time, I thought that was quite funny when he said that-its true-I could have stayed all night and watched him play but he was given a limited amount of time to do his show.

What that showed to me was Prince has charisma, a certain charm, a sense of humour which only made me like him more.
Oh Princey if your free for a couple of hours...If you aint busy for the next 7 years...Lets Pretend were married, and go all night..

He can brag all he wants at his shows. (his website stuff gets a little too gushy)

Considering he's turning 5-0 next year, still around and performing, looking great, survived 2 divorces, (3, including WB) he's earned it.
Look at all those in the music biz who succumbed to drugs at early ages.
Look at all those who made comeback careers after seemingly being washed up (Sinatra, Elvis, Sly, Tina Turner)
He should pat himself on the back for being unpredictably consistant.
You never know what he's going to do next. But it's always something. smile

I think Prince is great, a tremendous talent and a funny guy who has kept his head on straight through dizzying fame. BUT...

I hope he feels he has earned the reconition that has particularly been apparent since the Musicology release. Tours, records and appearances on SNL, and the Super Bowl have cemented his reputation as the consumate performer.

I would like to leave it up to the Alicia Keyes, and newer up and comers to spread the message of his greatness.

I don't care to hear him say stuff like so many hits , so little time, then have to back up these words by playing mostly the same hits he has been playing for years "for the last time". He should not try to appease, just play what he wants when he wants. We know he uses real musicians and is not lip-synching, why does he feel the need to state the obvious and thus downplay the talents of others who may choose to do otherwise? So what if radio does not choose to play him, why diss the radio stations? Sounds petty.

I don't imagine BB King or the Stones coming out and saying stuff like this. I think it would be classy of Prince to tone down the boasting when he turns half a century old, and either just play the music in concerts, or have fun with it, or make us think. Perhaps just banter off the cuff.

Feeling controversial today, so this seemed like an apt topic to bring up.

.. yeah, but it's not up to the fans to decide who should do what in the industry wink .. that's the advantage of being famous.. you do what you want wink

I wouldn't say that.

But speaking of A-Keys, she should of been with Prince performing on the Grammys, not Beyonce. Her and that chicken wobble dance she was doing. eek

LOL you shouldn't assume. I don't hate her, but I don't care much for her either.
