Prince's gig aids hospice..... Is the header for a little snippet from my local paper today. It reads as follows:
Two sports presenters from Pendle radio station 2BR have helped a local charity benefit from a 50 pound donation. (Don't have a pound sign on this keyboard!) Mr Brett, of Colne, had tickets to see pop legend Prince at the O2 Arena in London but was unable to go. He decided to generously auction the tickets via Burnley's local radio station. There were several bids for the tickets with the highest one coming from news & sports presenters Shabnam Younus & Dan Jewell. The pair travelled down to London recently and had a wonderful time at the concert. The money that they bid for the tickets was handed over to hospice fund-raising manager Mrs Kaye Bartle when she visited the studios recently. Mrs Bartle said: It's a shame that Mr Brett was'nt able to use his tickets but we are grateful to him for donating them to us so that others would be able to enjoy the concert.
