I am music He says this in the GIANT interview. I was reaading it over and for some reason, that line really struck me. It is personal and true. He is music. It clearly moves through him and he lets it. That is how he hits those notes and takes us all along for the ride in songs like, The Dance, Another Lonely Christmas, The Beautiful Ones, etc. I guess I'm just throwing this out to see if it hit anyone else. | |

Yes, that line really stuck with me too. Everything about him suddenly made sense. "John Bream, why you being fire-hydrant-head-looking..., you big seven eyed, Grover-from-Sesame-Street-looking… why you being dot dot dot?" | |

Yeah, for some reason, it sounded very authentic and really didn't ring of arrogance to me (unusual, as we all know he is often very arrogant). It did really make sense, too. If he is music, like so and so is this color or that color, than ofcourse he has no choice BUT to be music. It is all that he is. Man, how will this dude EVER hold a relationship together? | |

Really? Well, if you put it like this: that he has been engaged in music since birth, that his parents were musicans, that he fled into music from his personal problems all his life, and that he has a great talent for songwriting then yeah he "is" music. But if you put it like: oh he makes so many great songs, he cant help it, he is so great, he is the master, ain't no better musican than prince etc.... Puhleeasse. [Edited 8/21/07 4:37am] | |

There "really" is NO other artist in main stream popular culture that is like PRINCE.
YES, there are TONS of incredible and talented artists famous and undiscovered but think about it...can you really name off the top your head an artist/musician that LIVES, BREATHES and CREATES Music the way PRINCE does? Prince is an example and an inspriation to many artists, established or not about the craft and creativity of music. Can you think of any other artist that has an entire recording studio dedicated to the creation of music? Or maybe I should ask, can you think of any other artist that has a constant creative flow for music creation, the ability to play, write, arrange, compose and produce an entire song or album when "inspiration" strikes? Instead of taking time off, sometimes years, between albums to vacation the worls, party, do drugs, go into seclusion or even fade to obsurity like so many artists, PRINCE creates and LIVES for his craft...MUSIC. YES, there are great artists out there, past and present but whether you like PRINCE's work or not, you can't deny his TALENT, his CREATIVITY and his GENIUS.
