Given the opportunity to talk with Prince...What would you say? Sometimes I feel sad because I have listened to Prince for years and we have never met, and yes he has inspired poetry in me, and above all He and his fellow musicians have inspired happiness...I guess I'm feeling a little Strawberry tonight, so I decided to share with the prince.org a prose poem. It may be difficult to welcome me as another link...as I have had to also accept the chain of love that surrounds this man. I appreciate that many of us would like to say something of value in private, but when 23 years goes by...and you still only sit on the other side of a recording...it's like a message in a bottle washed up on a deserted island. So please, if anyone else would like to say something that has been in your heart, take the courage and the time. In my case...this is something I have to do, to open a door within myself. Prince, Hello...This is titled, "The Day"
The Day On The day I am looking you in the eye With a smile That has nothing to say I will know We have met Halfway across the sky On This day Out of the corner of my eye An Angel That has nothing to say Will fly by With a smile Knowing the day divine T "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I like your toes Prince.
Then I would ask him if he has ever been to the Grand Canyon, not flying over the Grand Canyon, but set foot there. If not, I would buy him some proper hiking boots and offer to take him there. ~Smile.

Or, What up, P?" Actually, that was the initiation of a conversation that lasted for about a min at one of the Paisley Park celebrations. I was there by myself, as I wanted to see what PP was all about, get a glimpse of where the funk emanated. I walked out of the bathroom, back into the party room, and Prince was walking through the crowd, and almost right past me...I barely noticed him. When I did, I calmly said, "what up, P?" And he responded, "not much, you havin' fun?" I responded, "I am, but I'm more interested in seeing the studios, where the music is created, mixed, and your office!" He laughed and said "yeah, that's the plan for y'all tomorrow; hope you make the tour, you cool otherwise?" I said, I'm good, just waiting for the show." He laughed and said, "soon, have a good time!", And walked off. I was kind of taken aback by three things; how normal he seemed, like talking to a brotha you kinda know on the street, ow small he was, and how huge and clear his voice was given his physical stature and how it carried in a room full of loud people with what seemed very little effort, while I felt like I was screaming.

I had 2 opps and I froze and couldnt speak both times.
If I had another opp, I would say hello. At least he "noticed" my legs (tipping his shades) at the Roosevelt Concert. The one and only Technagirl

I have been thinking about that when travelling to London and ended up with 3 options:
1. "How are you doing?". Then discuss world politics; 2. "This is my boyfriend, he's the best bass player in Holland. Wanna jam with him?" 3. "Forget about my boyfriend. Take me to the Dorchester".

I have thought about this very thing once. Honestly I could imagine all kinds of things I would like to talk to him about, but what is made up in my mind, is much different than reality. So this question is one I really cannot answer without being in the situation itself, but it is fun to speculate about. Wierd thing is, now I am getting hungry....hmmmm

I might have passed him on the street in toronto and was deciding whether to go up to him and see if it's really him, but I was feeling too shy. If I had, I would have been like, "I was jamming to when doves cry when I was 3" and he's awesome! But would have also been afraid of him laughing at me for that cause he's not stuck in the past and would feel insulted...like maybe he'd tell me to strip and jump into lake ontario, appolonia style [Edited 8/23/07 20:18pm]

I would smile and say a simple "Hi". Depending on his reaction I would either know to ramble on and get giddy or play it confident and cool. I have a feeling I would be an idiot and just clam up and hate myself later for it. &
