Prince's makeup I've been asking questions about men's makeup. Well it brings me to Prince's makeup. What kind does he wear? Whatever it is it's pretty radiant and bright.
It's inyrtrdting cause Michael Jackson isn't the only one to get lighter. Prince has gotten since his first albums. ON FOr You and Prince he looks pretty dark. Now I'mno biologist but I know people normally get darker, not the other way around. Unlike Michael Prince has escaped contraversy. Then I learned that they purposly made him darker. He had such light skin that he might not have been recieved or percieved as black byt the african-american audience. So as time marched on P gt lighter. I'm pondering is the Sing O' The Times era his trure skin or Gold Experience/Rave UN2? However now adays he's bretty light. Don't know if it's makeup or true skin. FOr instance in concert he looks alot different. If you've seen him close up or on the screens he actually looks pale lacking alot of color. DOn't know if this is his true color or the makeup he uses for concerts. Anyway liek most people makeup does wonders. I've seen his pics at The Superbowl with no nake and he loosk a whole lot different. Wonder what he would look like with his old dark makeup. Working up a purple sweat.

Actually...it isn't true that people tend to get darker. Skin loses pigment as people age -- just as hair does.
BUT...I'm quite sure Prince uses a light diffusing make-up -- which would explain why he looks lighter under stage or photographic lighting. All of his "official" photos are heavily Photoshopped, as well. In addition to touching up wrinkles, they may lighten him, as well. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

No if the concert and superbowl views I've seen of him are true he's light in real life but pale. By that I mean laking strong color. Kind of greyish. Working up a purple sweat.

Prince wears M.A.C. to my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong but that's what everyone says) and his skin seems lighter than when he was young simply because he doesn't hang out in the sun anymore much. No operations, no bleaching. He was always a "light black person". And he tends to sometimes go for the light shades of foundation/powder....Check The Most Beautiful Girl In The World video, horribly light makeup.

Prince's dad was dark. Prince is light skinned African American.... I saw him in concert and he is light skinned, it is not photoshop lightening. He must keep out of the sun. Some skin colors (like mine) tend to absorb sun more than others.

I am the same color as him and I was darker when I was younger and now as I get older, I am lighter. I noticed that about my late brother too. And also my fiance was always darker and now we are almost the same color. But my skin color changes with what I wear and my make-up is one color so If i get a tan, my make-up is so wrong but that's why you have to have a summer and winter foundation. I hardly wear make-up but I am the best person to ask that question to b/c I studied it in beauty school, college, and on my own personally. Um... let me warm up my vocals

I would love to know what kind of eyeliner he uses. I'm a sucker for nice thick eyeliner (and very black mascara).

I think Prince wears MAC makeup. But anyway,Prince is just lightskinned. His dad was definitely not dark. His dad was light and his mom was light...so hes light!damn, its not that hard 2 put 2gether and figure out
Sometimes he may appear lighter or darker in pics b/c of lighting and makeup and all that other crap.Me and all my other girl cousins got lighter as we got older and so did my aunt and some of my uncles. And we all can get very dark in the summer but by time February roles around we're back to our original color. So imagine Prince...who probably is hardly outside b/c of his status, dude is gonna be REALLY light this thread is madd weird by the way

I've known that Prince has worn some make up back in the day that didn't quite agree with his skin so instead of being yellow, he ended up looking a bit ashy. (Raspberry Beret vid folks).
I just don't think that make-up was made properly for people with skin that color. I've seen the same thing happen with some Latin people. (I've seen Apollonia come up with a white face and yellow body due to make up like that. She and Prince are kinda the same color.) I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me. Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots. Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol. Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol. Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

It's kinda funny imagining Prince walking into a DIllard's. He walks into the makeup department and wants to know what makup is right for him. That employee would have one story to tell. Working up a purple sweat.

I'm a different base colour, but I've found the same - as I've got older my skin has got lighter, I'm multi-heritage, are you? I wonder if the same thing happens to people who have 2 dark skinned parents? I'm looking out for a purple dolphin.

I wonder if the same thing happens to people who have 2 dark skinned parents? Of course. Being African-American, I can also tell you that when 2 dark-skinned parents have children, they're children vary in complexion, just like any other race. 1 or 2 may carry the complexion of the parents, the others the complexion of the grandparents and so forth, actually it's not that difficult to understand;by the way, most African-Americans are multi-heritage, that's just the way it is with us, whether they have light or dark skin--you'd be surprised.....and yes I have to agree, that the skin does get lighter as one ages, but not that much lighter.. Im very pale light skinned with yellow undertones like Prince. Prince maybe a shade darker than me like a light carmel. I have a hard time looking for makeup to hide blemishes and even my tone. MAC and Clinique are the only 2 cosmetics that work well for me. Everything else like Fashion Fair, Covergirl, Almay and Prescriptions have too much pink or red undertones. The one and only Technagirl

(I never met the man and it's often difficult to tell from photos -- especially black-and-white ones.) And who said anything about Prince bleaching his skin?
