[Edited 8/17/07 13:40pm] i know the j witnesses study a book about the profets right now. just like prince told the press he studies the profets i think he writes alot of personal songs. but the cover gives me the feeling prince feels like God, standing there with his hands directing the earth, being sexy.

In my opinion, I believe that Prince has always been a spiritual person. I believe that he has made it clear that we should celebrate our differences. I can feel his anguish throughout the years trying diligently to unite the world mindset, through the superficiality of being animal. Love is easy to believe in, but it takes time and money to distribute that throughout the world. He is in such a strong position to heal, that being alluring musically or lyrically, is the best way he can capture a mind, therefore being able to deliver a spiritual message. Once we reach an age of accountability for our actions, these sexual explicit concepts just become a part of the natural animal world we live in. It may be easy for some religious or spiritual people to understand these things, and be truly beneficial in smaller circles, However, Prince has a large crowd with their eyes on his talent and his heart. I think he's doing a great job, as a part of GOD. Long after his body is gone, his career will be studied, and both his sexual charm and his spiritual concerns will be immortal. Thankfully, he seems to have toned it down quite a bit. There is definitely a spiritual side to this album that Musicology and 3121 lacked. But this time, he's not ramming his dogma down our throats.
To me, it's a return to the more universal, positive spiritual/social messages of his 80's to mid-90's output, rather than the negative malcontent tantrums and rants of the NPGMC/TRC era. Thank god. 'Mr Goodnight' is very spiritual ...
In all seriousness, there are some spiritual themes on the album but they are very subtle.

this album doesn't feel toned down at all to me.....it sounds like Jehovah tried to make a record and we all know when you hear the word 'Jehovah'....you don't really think of the word 'music'

I seem to think that prince has a struggle like we all do.we chose 2 want 2 please the flesh and God at the sametime however it is impossible 2 doserve 2 Masters.Even though I am a prince fan I have struggled as well with his fomat of preaching the his so called Gospel even though I do not suscribe to JW teaching I do say amen to truth. Prince has Preached is most of his music about salvation I can remember that when i was very young Prince had a Accaplla version of the second Coming he and the band would do. and the breakout with a song called Sexuality? and I'm like huh?
