YES, I know that it says that the album was made by NewPowerGeneration but I hear him primarily.
This album is funky & slamming! I thought that I was only going 2 like 1 song on the album and that is "The One" but it turns out that I Looove the whole freeking album!
The title track HELL YEH...
MAD SEX Uh huh!! I love his little speech in the beginning of this song.

Dammit the whole album 2 me takes the cake.

I love it too. When I listen to Why Did I waste My Kisses on You Baby. Well, if you read the words and interprete it like somebody did in a sick way then yes it's sad. However it's not Sad the way he sings it. It's matter of factly. Like Regret. Anyway, I just love this album and yes Mad Sex and Come On are great. So is Until U're In My Arms Again. I think Prince does Everything Well.

My husband loves this cd. He plays it alot. It's not one of my favourites, but I do like it. There are a few really great songs on it. Wasted kisses is excellent.

Nat, I was the one who interpreted "Wasted Kisses" wrongly. Y must THAT B mentioned? It's over!
ANYWAYS, NewPowerSoul is definetly an album Im putting on my "Must-Have Duplicates" list

I also love this cd...and I also never understood why so many people bash on it. I mean, everybody has their own opinion, but in my opinion, NPS is a great cd!

There's 40m of good stuff on it...otherwise it's no prize.

You've all never really heard a decent funk album then like Mothership Connection or One Nation Under A Groove. NPS is sterile beyond belief.

Love this entire record -- it always has seemed to me that Until You're In My Arms Again is about the premature death of his child... Thoughts on this one?

I cant tell you how I felt when I first heard "Until your in my arms again". That song is sooo pretty! I was like My God! He can never stop killing it w/ the ballads! As far as it being about the death of his baby uh uh...aint gonna touch that 1!!!

I think that Prince set the trend with 1999, rather than borrowed from them. I haven't heard anything from before that album that sounded remotely like that. It still contains songs that sound like nothing I've heard (Something in the Water, All the Critics Love U in New York). I think the album's cold and robotic feel is really effective. It also helps that my favorite genres are funk and synth/new wave. This album combines those elements effortlessly! It also was a very bold album, so I respect it a lot too. I like New Power Soul too, even though it's my least favorite album of his. In my opinion, you really can't go completely wrong with Prince.
